It has been very long since a Big Daddy update. Wonder if silence is due to coaching staff keeping all recruiting info extremely secretive because they don't want to affect chances of getting certain recruits.

Seems like the coaching staff is moving very gingerly with disclosing information.

Mannion to MU and Half Life 3 confirmed.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

But, but, but, when we change our usernames to entice the recruit to commit, everybody wins.

Being a shooting guard, I doubt this factors into Mannion's decision?  Anybody want to pony up and pay some recruiting rankers to change his position to point guard?

From the City of Basketball Love website, cited by MuMark above:

"Now that Antoine has committed, the focus for Villanova turns to what else they will do in the Class of 2019. Antoine's pledge means the Wildcats now have 12 projected players on the 2019-20 roster, and Wright has made it clear he thinks having 13 scholarship players on the roster leads to too crowded of a situation.

But the Wildcats are still involved with several high-level prospects for next year. Five-star point guard Nico Mannion (Pinnacle Hills, Ariz.), the No. 11 player in the rising senior class, has Villanova in his top four; IMG Academy (Fla.) teammates Josh Green (No. 8 per ESPN) and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (No. 38) both have 'Nova in their top five. That's in addition to Scottie Lewis, Antoine's Ranney teammate, and top-ranked point guard Cole Anthony (No. 2 ESPN), who's never really released a list of favorites but has Villanova in the mix.

If Wright takes another commitment, that could be a sign someone is leaving early next spring, whether to the NBA Draft -- though at the moment there aren't any non-seniors who find themselves in the mock drafts -- or due to transfer."

Jay wright doesn't believe in using all his scholarships?  What?  Is he nuts?  Let's get our "must use all schoarships" crowd to straighten him out before he destroys his program, and hurts the Big East!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Welcome to Marquette, Dexter. A couple relatively recent online videos (couldn't find anything from 2018):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIK1_VCOZF8

Posted December 2017 during his senior season at Valencia High School, before he moved on to Blair Academy. Looks quick, athletic and long.

Check out the scoring drives from the top of the key at 0:36 and 1:24. Good handle and body control, keeps his head up while driving, shows an effective stutter step/hesitation move, and accelerates well when he gets past his defender. His spin moves at 1:30 and 2:22 are very pretty.

Sees the court well and has the ability to find his teammates anywhere. Several very accurate cross-court passes in transition (3:36, 4:02, 4:26). Doesn't seem to force the issue on offense and will pull back if he doesn't see an opening (4:33).

Good hands and anticipation on defense, uses his length and quickness well. I especially liked the steals at 6:52 and 7:46, where the other team is on the break and Dexter extends to tip the ball. Also took advantage of some very ill-advised passes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht9gnAM7oeo

Posted May 2017. He's listed at 6-3 here, so he may have grown an inch since then.

More of the same, although the camera work isn't as good. Great between-the-legs dribble and drive at 2:06. Really nice drive in transition at 5:18 where he crosses over, draws two defenders and finds a teammate for an easy layup. Struggles at times staying in front of his man on defense, may have improved on that since.

Could have done without a minute and a half of free throws (!) at the end.

Wow. Congratulations Coach on a great recruit.

One spot left for either Watts or Mannion...weird situation here. Wonder what Wojo says to both of them and if it puts pressure on one of them to make their decision quickly

Mr. Sand-Knit

While the hype has been low on dexter i have really really liked his game from every video i have seen.  Very intrigued by his possibilities n future at MU

1 Watts hasn't even set up an official visit here. He has a couple set up to other schools. We haven't been cut but I don't think we are still involved to any extent with him.

2 You don't put pressure on 5 star recruits......they decide when they are ready

3 James Bishop is also in the picture

Herman Cain

Delighted that Dexter is on board .  Love his game. Big East ready.

Add Seth Lundy.

With Akanno on board, Lundy is my second choice behind Mannion.

Has Lundy set up an official visit?

Not with us. As far as I'm aware he has not set up any officials at this point.

James Bishop has an official scheduled with us . So that factors into the mix as well.

Well he included us in his top-10 less than a month ago. There's been no reporting that we're out. But I guess you're in dripping wet blanket mode today.

Lundy did unofficial visits with Va Tech and Penn State in August.
The Marquette visit was earlier this summer.

Nico Mannion has eliminated Villanova and Duke. Just announced he is down to Marquette and Arizona.
