Yes. He has a thing for Golden Eagles.

Could be,  but I have never seen a recruit list his offers like this... But I have seen recruits cut lists to large numbers before. Pretty sure MU made Jahvon Moore's top 13

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I don't think that's nothing. Players often commit to coaches not programs. Could help us with Carton,  Watts,  and even open up Wilson.

Of course he actually has to get the job

FWIW, Luke Yaklich was his primary recruiter for Michigan.  In the unlikely event Beilein were to leave, there's some belief in the Michigan world that Yaklich is the new heir apparent

Just curious,  why is him leaving unlikely?

Not easy being the son of a superstar. Zaire doing a good job.  Has received interest from Michigan State, Florida State and Toledo.

Dude... I hate to be the guy to break this to you...but Zaire fucking sucks... he's an average ass JV player. Kostas is a goddamn all American when compared to Zaire. Please stop mentioning him as a real option, he's not.

He could opt for the NBA some day but why Detroit?  They're stuck in NBA purgatory.  Most Michigan folks think this is probably a push to get his assistants a raise

He's 65 years old this is one of only two openings remaining.  I'm not sure he can be super picky if he really wants to give the NBA a whirl.

I'd think if he wanted to really give the NBA a whirl, he'd have looked for a more attractive job earlier in this process.

Maybe it's an itch that needs to be scratched and he's comfortable in Michigan and that makes this sensible for him.  Either way, unless Yaklich wouldn't  replace him, doubt Jalen Wilson re-opens the recruiting process

Makes sense.  I hope he stays because I think he'd look good on the Bulls' sideline next year.

If Beilein goes, I think this is the job. That said, I think they go for Dwane Casey. One interesting thought if Beilein does take the job, Lavall Jordan could be targeted by UM as a replacement. That would be rough for Butler, potentially losing coaches very late in the process in back to back years.

I had the same thought.  But Jordan is an alum, where Holtmann and Stevens are not.  Not sure how much that matters to him though.

Not yet.....just made the first cut. Still have to survive cut from 18 to 12 to make the team.

TedBaxter

As much as I like Carton and Watts and love that Wojo is doing what he has to to stay involved, getting either of these 2 or Mario McKinney is going to be very tough.  That's why I'm glad they offered a player like Jalen Gaffney in early May.  They are keeping their options open.

Unclear. Interviews make him sound confident he has nothing else to prove. Taking summer classes. But still a 2020 for now.

Exciting stuff on Mannion. He said he would prefer to go to a non blue blood, fingers crossed Wojo can pull this one out. Would be a great get, IMO.
