Well, Joey and Diamond had "silently verballed" to the Badgers so if you ask me this is good news.

So, what you are saying is UW only gets the flaccid verbals?

I heard last night that Nobal Days has verballed to the vadgers . My "inside source" is his next door neighbor. Said the kid is a very good student and would have qualified for academic scholarship.

I know this is hearsay but I thought it was interesting/ disappointing.

If he's interested in immediate playing time, MU might not be the most wonderful looking option. He'd need to make huge strides in the next two years to see the court much in 2019-20.

Lots to like about Nobal, but he still has a long ways to go.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Well we know that JM is not my wife, because with her I am never right.  :)

JM you win the competition you have way more inside sources than me.  Where can I send you the trophy?:)

Bye the way why don't you tell everyone what the team is doing tomorrow as a team building event?

Thank you, if you did.  However, he will show up and say he was busy taking to an MU recruit or player or on vacation or under a new name.

But, how will we do without him since he was obviously the official Marquette person conducting exit interviews of all recruits who don't commit and players who transfer.  And given that he knows all of the players and their families really really well, I am surprised that they don't know him.  ;D

Seriously, please keep it up.  He seems to not know where his speculation, fantasies, pretend ideas and conversations end and reality begins. Or he is just a troll... of course.

Nah, every time his make believe theories get shown to be non-sense he simply goes quiet, but he NEVER acknowledges that they were BS.  Then he pops up with a new bit of fiction and gallops on.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Jalen Suggs as D1 football player?  Noooooooo Jalen! Stick with basketball!  Higher player contracts and fewer concussions!
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

On the other hand ...
NFL - 1,696 roster spots (not including practice squads)
NBA - 450 roster spots

What good is that if you can't get a (partially) guaranteed contract until your 4th year in the league?

Well, there's the fact that there are 1,100 more roster spots available in the NFL, plus as many as 320 practice squad spots. And a non-guaranteed NFL contract, even a practice squad contract, is a heck of a lot better than playing in the D-League or Latvia.
A practice squad player gets $112K a year.
A top level D-League player gets $26K a year.

However there's virtually no overseas pro market. You can make a living playing basketball all over Asia and Europe.

Wait ... Canada isn't overseas?
The average CFL salary is comparable to the average salary in some of the best Euro leagues. The high end isn't close, but the guys at the middle and bottom of the roster are comparable.
Also a true fact, the minimum Arena Football League salary is better than then top-tier D-League salary.

But really, it's a numbers game.
The 1,600th best football player in the U.S. is on an NFL roster or practice squad, earning more than six figures at a minimum.
Are there 1,600 basketball roster spots for Americans in the entire word? And is that 1,600th player earning anything close to $100K? Remember, many European and Asian leagues have roster limits on players from the U.S.

But you might not be able to walk (was it across the stage next to your child at the same time so you can finally receive your high school diploma as well?) at your son's high school graduation...

I'd also be interested in the average career earnings of a professional basketball vs football player. How long is the average NFL career, 2-3 years? Is it that much longer for football players in general? I have to imagine the average basketball career is longer than that.

This is a few years old, but take it fwiw.
A key point, though, is that there are four times as many NFL jobs as NBA jobs, so while you'll make more as an NBA player, you're more likely to become an NFL player.
