My 2027 3 player recruiting wish list. Jaxson Davis, Devin Cleveland and Donovan Davis.I believe MU has a good chance with all three. Hopefully Jerel McNeal can help with Jaxson.

Surprised no 🔮 for Alex yet?

That would be a hell of a class.

Sounds like he hasn't notified the teams yet of his decision.

Marquette doesn't really talk so maybe this is good news

This would probably be the best recruiting class in Marquette hx no?

Unless something leaks out in the next few days and it could, I think we'll be in the dark on Alex Egbuonu until he makes a decision announcement next Friday.  Could be any of his final 5 depending on what he is making his decision on, including Auburn, who he cancelled his visit with this weekend.

I will stand by that Shaka and staff have been as consistent as anyone in this pursuit, but it would be just a guess if I said Marquette will be the winner in this one.  Since Shaka has been here you can pretty much tell when they are out of it on a recruit and it seems like they are hanging in there on this one.  We'll see in the next week.  In fact, even the recruiting pursuits it looks like they were in on until the end, like Kon Kneuppel, there were rumblings that Marquette wasn't going to get them well before it was announced.

Vaughn Karvala to Indiana, but it sounds like we were out on him a while back.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

What were the speculative reasons on why we we cooled on him?

tower912

I never heard a definitive reason.  I recommend the Recruiting Shaka's Way thread for what Shaka is and isn't looking for.

My guess it's the usual reasons......not related to playing ability.

When both MU and UW decide to stop pursuing a 4 star in state kid ....and then the other school that invested a lot of time in the recruitment ( Syracuse) cancels his official visit and moves on to other targets it tells you pretty much what you need to know.

IU only recently started recruiting him and that's where he ended up.

The first thing Shaka, and most coaches, look for is energy and effort.  If your effort runs really hot and cold and changes based on how often youre touching the ball on offense, coaches are going to stop recruiting you.

This. Oregon HS parents agree.
