Greek, not Russian! They stole the name from us. It's ok though, we are used to folks stealing things we came up with.

Report away, they will call me asking for a Greek salad and a gyro 😂

Since when are Greek men allowed any name besides Gus or George? Well, you are right. After grilling you, they will happily settle for a Greek salad or gyro from your grill, as long as it is free.

Side note- one of my sister's friends has a son who worked in China and married a "diminutive" (gotta keep Muggsy happy) woman while there. They are now living in the USA. My sister's friend casually refers to her daughter-in- law as "the little commie".

Has Marquette ever recruited a player that didn't need their shot fixed as viewed by at least one scooper?

Rivals Futurecast has 3 predictions. All for Marquette.

Too bad there are no more track scholarships for him to save a basketball scholarship.

I guess they have to go to plan B and have Shaka adopt him.

Question for rules gurus- after a verbal, can a commit visit as often as he wants to?

Probably. Kids don't like hearing, "you'll have an opportunity to compete for playing time as a freshman" when they're being recruited. They'd rather find a school that who will be honest with them and tell them, "your shot is broken...we'd like you to redshirt while we fix it."

Owens goes to a fancy boarding school in Ohio, so he's probably rich. Maybe he won't need a scholarship.*

*In the unlikely event that you are reading this, Damarius, this is a joke. I hope you, get your scholarhsip offer, come to Marquette, and excel. And, if it's not too much trouble, bring the kid from down the road at CVCA with you.

Tempering my enthusiasm.  FutureCasts aren't as reliable as the Crystal Ball

Kur had a broken dunk, Shaka never really fixed it.

Thanks. If he commits to MU today, it would be great to see him at the game.

I'm not sure his HS teammates would agree. WRA plays St. Ignatius tonight. I'm guessing he'll be there.

If I didn't already have plans for tonight @ 7:00...I'd consider going and watching him play.

Reading through Cuse scoop - they absolutely love this guy. Some select quotes: "Hope we can get him before someone like Duke does." and "We are going after some big names in 2024, but this kid would be as good as any of them."

Other helpful info:

Owens over past 2 years:
75/126 on 2 pointers (59.5%)
18/48 on 3 pointers (37.5%)
41/59 on free throws (69.5%)
Per 40 minutes, he averaged 15.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 turnovers, 1 block, and 1 steal on a TS% of 61.3%.
