So when is Herman's ascension?
Goal is National Championship

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

Damn, we need some recruiting news!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Do we even need a center?

In the old, pre-3 point line days, we definitely need a sturdy, assertive center. The goal was to get the ball as close to the bucket before shooting. A center helps clear the lane or can rebound and slam the ball home.

Now, with long rebounds, I'm actually of the belief that a traditional center may be a liability. I'd rather have a front line of Oso, Dawson and Lewis who are tall and strong as opposed to a 7 foot, slow, can't shoot aircraft carrier. Plus, with long rebounds, position rather than height is the key to rebounding. Plus, when you see Theo's build, I think the refs whistle him for scratching his nose. There's an officiating bias against assertive centers, as I suspect any Theo-watcher could tell us.

As an old-timer, I remember a couple of our pre-Chones teams where we really didn't have a true center. The tallest guy on our team one year was 6'6", but boy, we could leap.

On the other hand, if we can recruit the next Kareem, go for it! Of course, would Coach Wojo know what to do with him?
A dominant big man who can score and rebound is still a very valuable player. There are just not many to go around. If Henry would have stayed another year, it is possible MU could have gone deep into the tournament.

Of course, you've gotta take the Trojans to cover.     ;D

As long as there's no excessive penetration which could break through the defense.....

You sound a little too cocksure about that.

Maybe this discussion pricked some old wounds?

Didn't know you were so easily ribbed.

I have a feeling we won't see him in college but Foster down to 4 schools, MUBB not in mix.

'Former Milwaukee Washington star Michael Foster (6-10), now playing at Hillcrest Academy, has narrowed his list of potential colleges to Georgia, Grambling State, Florida State and Western Illinois. He also will consider playing overseas or in the G League."

That's an odd list for a recruit of his caliber to say the least

Yes.  Especially Western Illinois - maybe some family connection?

I assume Grambling is related to what may becoming a movement toward more high major recruits considering HBCU's.

Rob Jeter is the head coach at Western Illinois.  I'm assuming some type of Milwaukee connection.

Brandon Weston (teammates with Foster at Hillcrest Prep) committed to Seton Hall yesterday. One of his finalists was Western Illinois. The Irvin family. Mac Irvin Fire.

Earlier this year Rob Jeter hired Nick Irvin, son of Mac Irvin, brother of Byron, Mac Jr. Mike. Mac Jr's wife Cory and her family also have a lot of connections as well.

Previously Nick was the 12 year head coach at Morgan Park High School in Chicago.

Deontay Long , who was Micheal Fosters high school teammate at Milwaukee Washington, is going to Grambling. There are some Milwaukee oonnections in the coaching staff at Grambling.

Donte Jackson, the head coach at Grambling, is the real reason for all of that. He's a Milwaukee native that played for UW-Milwaukee. There are Wisconsin ties all over their roster.

Uncle Rico

He's going to the G-League.  Time for some of you Marquette alum fat cats to start giving these kids the bag, aina?

The other St Cats guard, Kamari McGee, got his first offer from Grambling.

And his second was Western Illinois.

I'm noticing a pattern...
