Some guys on twitter have a theory that our coaches leaked his commitment as Marquette to force him to commit to MU. Sounds sort of like HC, RIP

Did they force him to pose with a t-shirt too?

Maybe Villanova boosters paid him to not go to Temple.

Two solid guard gets for Wojo.   Time to find a couple of 6'9 bangers.

I'd take DaRon Holmes next if we are allowed to choose.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Now that the backcourt looks good, who should MUBB focus recruitment efforts on in the frontcourt? I'm really hoping for Mac and Graham, but I'm wondering if there are others I'm missing.

Watched some highlights on DaRon Holmes. He also would be a solid pickup.

Holmes and Mac are my two. Holmes is working out with Markus' brother too, which may play to our advantage (and Gainey was recruiting him with Arizona). I'd consider those two plus Stevie and Kameron as a great class.

When was the last time anyone heard anything about Foster?  Is the thought process still assuming it'll be G-League unless new developments arise?

If MU lands another guard, I'd want D'Marco Dunn.  But UNC and Arizona are both involved.  Will be a tough get.

With Brown off the board, and UConn gaining momentum with Hawkins, Lucas Taylor is probably the best wing option.

Landing Holmes would be great but it will be tough, especially with Stan leaving for LMU.

Etienne is another stud, but I don't have a great feeling about Marquette's chances.  Feels like Wojo is going to need to scramble after 3 star bigs.

With Carton likely turning pro, and Elliott possibly being a grad transfer, I want Wojo to fill as many spots as possible this fall.  I'd prefer Wojo fills all 3 open spots since there will likely be 1-2 spots available in the spring anyway.

MU recently offered 6'11" Jonas Aidoo.
MU appears to still be in the mix for Samson Johnson.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Is Elliott a likely grad transfer? I mean he seems to love being at MU and a part of the campus. I suppose if Cain graduated and wasn't staying around Milwaukee MU would probably feel different.

My guess on this is that this next season, if it happens, will be significant in figuring this out. If Elliott becomes a key rotational piece, getting 20-25 mpg and looking like he's in line to be a major backcourt contributor as a senior, he probably stays. If he's stuck behind Carton and McEwen and never really gets a chance, with Cain leaving, more likely he thinks about going.

My gut says he will stick around, but after Bailey, who knows?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I'd guess we end up with 2 or 3 more commits in this class (I think we will ultimately have 4 openings with Carton going pro). My ideal trio that I actually think is possible to fill those spots would be Lucas Taylor, DaRon Holmes, and Mac Etienne. With Mitchell and Jones in the fold already, that would give us a player at each position. We've recently seen Taylor working out with DJO and Holmes working out with Markus' brother, I think those things can only help us. Mac we seemed in good position on early but I'm not so sure now.

If any of those three don't work out, I think the next tier is James Graham, Samson Johnson, Jonas Aidoo, and Adama Bal. None of the four are highly ranked at the moment but they all have very solid high major offers. There's also Brandin Podziemski out at St. John's Military. He could be a good stash on the bench and hope he develops type player.

Also need to keep in mind that instant transfers may become a thing before next offseason. That will change the face of recruiting and we could see our coaches purposfully banking 2 or 3 scholarships in hopes of using them on quality transfer.

I am definitely of the gut opinion that the Etienne ship sailed when he didn't reclassify. I think we would've been the leader had he went to 2020 but are just one of myriad suitors in 2021 and not near the front anymore. Really hope that adding Gainey helps with Holmes, maybe offsetting the Stan loss as he was likely at least somewhat involved with Holmes at Arizona.
