Silent Verbal

I think Buzz also botched the Jeremy Lamb recruitment in a similar fashion.

I think Buzz literally said something like, "I watched him play and didn't think he was any good."  Just a miss on his part.

They may simply want to lock in Mane in 2020 before getting a verbal from Tyrese.

Lots of room to do both.  Doubt that Hunter would scare off Mane.  Different players with different size.

MU to see 2021 Hunter Sallis tomorrow.

6'3 Top 50 Combo guard from Omaha.

I guess I don't understand why people are so worried about Hunter.  It's his junior year.  Wojo is getting to see him.  Plenty of time between now and the signing of his NLI.

Exactly right.  I think it's because he's a local kid and such.  Just a nice story.  Heck, I'm not even really paying attention to the current Juniors as reflected in what is probably a lousy chart right now. Plenty of time.

Small update on Kendall Brown.

Kendall Brown is possibly one of the top breakout players of this high school season.
Every time that Sunrise Christian Academy plays, you hear that Kendall Brown is doing something special and is having a good game. With that, he draws a national recruitment and has already taken an official visit to Marquette.
He's eying one more official visit to plan as of now.
"I plan to officially visit Ohio State," Brown told Stockrisers.com – – With no date yet, he is currently working on one to visit the Buckeyes.
Among the other [Ohio State included] schools on him the hardest: "Marquette, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Texas, Maryland, Baylor, among others."
Brown is humble but says that he thinks he's playing great this season and is really noticing that prior to college he's seeing development in his game.

Definitely who I hope we go after teh most for 2021. Gonna be a special player.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

With Hunter, I assume lots of people here are under the "bird in the hand" mindset.  The concern would be that MU misses an opportunity to lock up a local kid that seemingly is very interested in MU.  UK getting involved recently probably upped the angst a little bit.

Another issue is they are not done for 2020, I am sure they are hoping for Mane but lets face it, they need another Jayce Johnson type to backup or start over
Theo next year.  That will tell them how many open schoolys they will have for 2021.  For sure 3 if not 4 or 5 for next year.   But the type of kids Wojo is trying to recruit
are all Top 100 kids around the country and it would be very hard to play 11-13 players if he used all the scholarships available.  This year he is playing 8 mainly, count
Elliott at 9.  Morrow as a senior was 10, you can see why he was not happy.   Next year, they already have 10 decent players, add Mane and a backup center that is 12.
So if 1 of those players goes to the NBA, 4 are seniors, then you have lots of opportunities again for new players.

If he really has MU at the top of his list, I think he'll wait until at least summer, and maybe beyond, before giving anyone a verbal.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

R J Davis invited, as well.

Lots of former/current targets there. RJ, Hoggard, Nimari, Karim. Hoping we hear some good news on the Karim Mane front soon.

Glad to see the coaching staff is using the week between games productively.

I thought PRN said Wojo didn't out the work in...
