I'm not sure you understand...he is a program changing recruit. That's my opinion but that's how I feel.

There is a presentation going on now in the Al. Started an hour ago.

If Wojo gets to his PowerPoint presentation you're right.  We got this!

He is a highly rated, versatile high school forward.   I hope we land him, but I don't believe in putting that kind of pressure on a kid.   Or set myself up for that kind of disappointment if he goes elsewhere.   That's my opinion, but that's how I feel.

I wouldn't say program altering. Would sting to miss on him though no doubt.

All I'm really saying is this program is badly in need of a jolt, Wojo could use a jolt too. This could/would do that.

I'm not sure how he's more program changing than Henry or Joey were supposed to be. Hopefully he will come here and exceed their performance.

Just a feeling I have...adding him to this recruiting class would be monumental and I feel could really change the trajectory of the program.

muguru, I don't want to get into one of these arguments.    You hold onto and embrace your opinion.    I agree that a front line of Garcia, Oso, and Lewis could be awesome in a couple of years.     Versatile forwards with length?    Heck, yeah!    But change the trajectory of the program?     A little much.    Change it like.... Henry?    Sam?    Joey?    Markus?    Top 50 PG Symir?     I understand being excited and enthusiastic.    I think, however, that your expectations are a tad bit unreasonable and the proverbial cart may be in front of the proverbial horse.

Not so fast my friend. Maybe this kid will see more clearly than Wojo's selection committee when they viewed his power point!

Was Wade was a program changing recruit? ....... he needed Diener, Novak Jackson etc ...no one player is doing it alone.

Ps after Wade "changed the program"......he left and MU missed the tournament 2 years in a row.....they didn't win a tournament game for 4 years after he left......

Kaminsky was National player of the year at UW......

UW fans thought they were " elite" after those back to back years.......they were wrong.

I wouldn't expect Garcia to be as good as Wade or Kaminsky at the next level......as others have said.....would love to have him.....great potential and would love the idea of 3 versatile forwards with skill and athleticism........let's just go easy on the hype......doesn't serve any good purpose and is likely setting unrealistic expectations for the kid before he even gets to college.

Well stated, tower.

I try not to get too wound up about crud I can't control, and the whims of basketball recruits would be pretty high on that list.

I hope we get him. But if we don't, I'll FaceTime with my grandkids, hug my wife, coach my team, take my pup for a walk, hang out with friends, drink a beer ... and still cheer on my alma mater's basketball team.

Yup.  Obviously we all want Dawson at MU, but it's his decision which is hopefully MU.

Wojo looked heavy.  So we should take that as a cue that he is fat and happy about our recruiting.
