I agree, if he comes or does not come it is not the end of the world.  They have 2 forwards coming in already and MU seems to be a grad transfer
heaven and it for sure will be next year as playing time is available.  Back up center or experienced power forward will show up.  I would not be
surprised if they sign 2 in April.  Now if Dawson comes, then maybe a shooting guard would be nice.  One thing I know, they will be OK either way.

Keep it simple. We want Dawson inasmuch as he is a superior talent. MU has proven to be a solid training ground for the NBA. He would also benefit from very real and deep NBA connections while at MU. I believe when he assesses everything, MU has the edge. Really hope we get this quality player. If not, I still like were we are going. My confidence in WOJO building a talented team remains strong.

Hypothetically, yes, but this has looked like a two-horse race since the IU visit. The only people still trying to spin Memphis or Minnesota as viable have a vested interest in arguing they are viable (such as Ryan James, who makes his money largely off a Minnesota fanbase).

DG's recruitment has been really well kept close to the vest. Maddening as a fan, but well done.

Hope when he puts on the blue and gold this weekend he will be able to see the path Marquette can offer in terms of scheme, exposure and growth as a player, person and prospect.

Also, what I posted is a direct quote from James saying it might be too little too late, but still indicating there's a chance for Minnesota. That is from the past 3 days.

But if you look at what I quoted that he posted earlier this week, he's stringing them along. Because, as I said in the first post that started this thread of the discussion, he has a vested interest in keeping Minnesota alive. He both acknowledges that it's likely IU or Marquette, but doesn't completely rule out Minnesota. I'm firmly in the camp that he keeps the vague "Dawson having interest in staying home" and "keeping Minnesota in it" in his comments so the Minnesota fans that pay his bills continue to be invested in the stories he is putting out there.

I don't think they have a chance, I believe James doesn't think they have a chance, but he continues to string their fans along to let them think there's a slim reason for hope.

According to this site, the last time an undefeated Minnesota team hosted another undefeated team in November, was when they beat Iowa in 1960.  (Unless I missed something earlier.) 

The last time they hosted a game this late between two undefeateds, they beat Michigan on November 9, 1940.
