Oats has strong AAU ties. Not a surprise.

Antoine Pettway has been in on many kids as well. Get used to seeing Alabama in the mix if you haven't already.

So in the next 12 months we have a total of five slots to fill.  Any of you want to take a decent guess as to who those names will be?

Uncle Rico

#19677
Osa
Desmond Polk
RJ Davis
Mystery recruit (Brown-Ferguson is my modified guess)
Traditional transfer

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Daishen Nix who cut his list yesterday, commits to UCLA.  Good job, Mark Miller getting that correct

For those who were upset we didn't make Nix's final 5

4 of those schools apparently were just window dressing

We will get Osa.  Everyone else will fall out of the top 150.  We will end up taking a few flyers.  Guys like Akanno.  I hope I'm wrong.  Trust me.  I hope I'm wrong

I think the ideal would be...

RJ Davis
AJ Hoggard
Osa Ighodaro
Dawson Garcia
Javonte Brown-Ferguson

I like our chances with Davis and Ighodaro. I think Hoggard and Garcia go elsewhere. Too early to say on JBF. We probably fill the roster with a traditional transfer or two.

Sure is.

And the thing is, even if this does happen as you say, everyone here will be "excited" about the class, and say how much potential it has yadda, yadda, yadda. Rather then calling a spade a spade, this is the approach they will take...it's the old "I want players that want to be at MU" calling, so many adhere to, even if those players aren't really good enough to be at MU. I, like you, really and truly hope I'm very wrong...landing Davis would go a long ways towards alleviating my uneasy feelings about the way this class is shaping up..as would landing Dawson. Lewis was a good start, but the finished product is what matters, let's see what it is.

So you're simultaneously declaring we should already stick a fork in this class, but also state that the finished product is what matters. Alright, guy.

That's not what I'm saying...but MU has been eliminated from a couple of 5 star lists recently..That's a FACT. They also as of now have no other commits outside of Lewis...that too is a fact. But if this class ends up not as good as a lot of us think it will be/should be...I want people to be real and just say that...rather then hide behind the "excitement" about this class etc. Too many people do that, and it really bothers me..not just with MU BB but things in life. Just be real and call things what they are..

I'm really elicited that someday soon I will be really excited about this class!!!

This doesn't surprise me...you're one of the people I 100% see being "excited" about this class, no matter who they end up landing. All seashells and balloons in some people's worlds I guess. They could land a kid ranked 225 and after the announcement of his commit, you'd be excited, even if it meant they missed out on Suggs, Dawson, Nix, Burnett etc.

I heard that Nix just wasn't competitive enough. His desire to win a basketball game was not the 1st, 2nd, 3rd... only thing that has ever mattered to him in his life and thus Wojo cooled on him.

Honestly didn't see any upset posts on MUScoop about his final 5. (I commented on 'Bama's inclusion being odd but nothing about MU being left out)
