That one does hurt. Let's get Suggs and Dawson now.

We aren't likely to get Suggs.

I think the hope is for Davis.

Alabama is a strange school in that group. I don't care but the other schools are very good programs and/or have great tradition but 'Bama? Funny story, I asked the son of a family friend who attends 'Bama who the basketball coach was and he had no idea. He did say he thought they hired a new coach in the past few years. The then stated that they only care about football.

I am sure Burnett knows who the coach is given he has visited them and not visited us.

I think the point was that you're never gonna be BMOC at Bama.  It's a football school and always will be.  This obviously isn't a huge factor for Burnett.

As stated in the other thread the focus should be on Osa Ighodaro!  He's the hidden gem that we can and should get. We have Symir Torrence already so getting another stud point guard in this class is a luxury but not a necessity.

I agree. Burnett was always a long shot but we did invest a lot of time so it stings a little. But Davis and Osa seem like two quality players we have a good shot at.

Hope and pray Davis, Suggs and Garcia commit to MU. Osa would help.

What hurts the most about it is it isn't like his final 5 are blue bloods..those are all schools MU should be able to go toe to toe with regularly and beat for kids.

Beyond tired of always being the bridesmaid on these top kids...ESPECIALLY when, again, there are no blue bloods in his final 5.

Texas Tech was good last year but I wouldn't say they have a "very good program or great tradition". Oregon is kind of on the cusp too.

All public schools with big campuses, most in warm weather climates except Michigan.  Kid might be looking for something else.  All kinds of reasons kids select schools.

Long standing relationship with Michigan Head Coach Juwan Howard  so no surprise. As I have said this is their recruit to lose. Chris Mack has been recruiting Nimari since he was at Xavier, and the family has said they value that relationship and now Mack is at Louisville doing good things there. So those two schools make a lot of sense.

Alabama, most likely the kid wants to go to a football game on an official. Oregon has the whole Nike connection going for it. Texas Tech is the flavor of the month with an elite 8 followed by a Championship final.

Don't forget Daishen Nix, who by all accounts still likes MU. He would be a grand slam home run better than Burnett, IMO

Lol. Good deductive reasoning. I’m sure Alabama basketball players do just fine. There are 33K undergraduate students there.

Realistically, MU would only get one of Davis, Suggs, Nix and Burnett. Not rationalizing the fact Burnett eliminated us but the staff needs to determine who they have the best shot at and go all in on them imo. They are all uphill battles, but in my mind I think we have the best shot at getting Davis. An 0-4 on this group would not be good.

Kira Lewis and Tua Tagovailoa walk into the book store together who do you think gets noticed first?

Markus Howard and any other student athlete walk into the book store who do you think gets noticed first?

Nothing wrong with players choosing to to to Bama, but it will always be a football first school. This obviously isn't a huge factor to Burnett.
