Very well written research report on Daishen Nix. MU not mentioned however I believe (rampant speculation )there are some compelling items at play that may work in our favor.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/daishen-nix-is-the-no-1-point-guard-in-america-but-after-shunning-the-shoe-companies-his-recruitment-is-a-mystery/amp/

I'll bite. What are the compelling items at play that will work in our favor? Deductive reasoning has some room on the board given how slow things seem to be moving.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

If Nix chooses a school(Blueblood) that is also recruiting RJ Davis........it's ABC stuff.

Third place is you're fired.

I am really dying for some info about a decisions/visits for some of our big targets.

1. Nix is proudly from Alaska and looks up to fellow Alaskans  Trajan Langdon and Carlos Boozer, both of who are closely associated with Wojo. Gives Wojo a good talking point .
2. Nix adviser  fully understands how the game is played and is looking for a program where Nix can actually play early and not be recruited over. That means the Blue Bloods are not necessarily a tier above everyone else. We can demonstrate that Henry and Markus have been given keys to kingdom.
3. Nix adviser values long term relationships and is skeptical of the johnny come lately recruiters. This is a classic case where Stan's persistence and efforts are actually valued.

All that together could conceivably give MU a place in the dialogue with Nix and his adviser.

Then again possibly not, in which case we hope Nix does go Blue Blood early and thus keeping us in the game on RJ Davis.

I could take a hundred recruits and give 3 nebulous reasons why they might come to Marquette. And my supposition would be just as dumb as yours.

Yeah but the Alaska one is really next level creativity that should be acknowledged.

Especially when you factor in the success that Derrick Wilson had as a starter here and whose minutes, efficiency, and role only increased here once Wojo took over. Between that and winning the Great Alaska Shootout in 2001, few programs can boast the Alaskan cred that Marquette does (Duke, though, it still tough to beat with Langdon and Boozer).

Nope, correct thread. This was an actual Marquette recruiting target, in home visit and everything. So, it belongs in the MU recruiting thread. I do realize you have to often scroll through long winded multi post non recruiting debates etc at times in this thread w/a small number of posters. And I know there is a new thread for recruits that have nothing to do with MU. This isn't either one of those things. I can assure you, 100% of my posts in the MU recruiting thread will be about kids Marquette has been recruiting. 👍

Seems like a focused young man with a tremendous set of on and off the court skills. It is a positive that we will know one way or the other relatively soon.
