It is worth taking a look at who U Conn is offering for 2020

https://247sports.com/college/uconn/Season/2020-Basketball/Offers/

Justin Lewis listed as warm.

So is Marquette
That is why I pointed it out. We are now in a battle to the death with Hurley.

It's been listed like that for months.  They're also in a "death battle" with Virginia Tech and Maryland if you "warm" means anything.

I've never put much stock in those types of designations. I've seen them where a kid has committed or has dropped a school from his list and the designation still stays "warm".

They have Gabe Madsen listed as cool and Mark Miller tweeted today how Marquette has made him a priority

Also have no offer on Niels Lane, so these things are not exactly 100 percent accurate. As Jay Bee says they are a marketing tool.

Good god the recruiting thread has devolved to my odds of hooking up with Jessica Nigri.

She's chasing a rabbit hole, say 6 or 7 years, get the right connection to a high-end escort service, not far fetched.

Remember, the cristal bowel is a marketing tool. Don't latch onto it or take it to have any significant, non-public info/meaning behind it.

Dawson has always been the key between those two and we're still in on him. If he goes to school elsewhere, I'll be a little bummed, but still thankful for where we've gotten with him. Should be celebrated, imo. (PS-don't forget UNC and Duke, among others).

I'm with you on the cristal bowel - my point was that many on Scoop were using Mark Miller's predictions as likely outcomes - not that I believed them. Grateful that we're still in on Dawson but I'm not optimistic. Hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Because your posts are repetitive and tiresome. When the whole board is against you, aside from your one champion Herman Cain, doesn't that tell you we don't care about the points you've made a million times over? Or is that what makes you happy, to incite everyone? You are like the Gr8one1 of the Scout board. Get a clue bro.  8-)

In games,  I agree with you trying hard and losing is still losing.

In recruiting, trying hard is actually rewarded. Sometimes directly , sometimes indirectly. For example , we worked on about five other guys like Jordan Nwora, Hasahn French etc in that  up state New York New England prep environment which eventually led us to Symir. Symir is the 4 star type we are seeking.  As much as I think Wojo is the wrong guy, I give credit to him and the team for executing the process correctly to get the 4 stars that we can actually get on campus.

What has to happen now is for a couple of the guys we recruit to take off and go to the next level while they are on our roster.

9-9-9, I truly believe this is one of the best posts I have ever read from you.

So the basis of disappointment was that Scoopers shared crystal ball predictions having Garcia going to Marquette?

We'd better shut down the recruiting thread and only have a thread for kids who sign National Letter of Intents so as not to disappoint Scoopers here.

You do have to wonder if this is why Wojo has shown heavy interest in Madsen again and has made a couple other recent offers..that he doesn't feel good about landing his top choices. Sucks

My gut instinct is Desmond Polk is going to Iowa. DJ Steward going to Louisville . Niels Lane is blowing up and probably not heading in our direction. Jalen Suggs has serious football offers. So yeah, we have to drop down to high 3 star players and Madsen is probably at the top of the realistic  list right now for these type of players. The kid can shoot , and is starting to get attention from other top schools, so there may be some upside potential.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I feel confident in saying that unless Madsen blows up in the rankings, he will be no better than the third highest ranked player in our 2020 recruiting class. I don't think it's fair to categorize him as the "top of the realistic pile"

When you are playing a team with better talent you play hard and hope for an upset. You lose twice, if you do not compete.

In recruiting you lose twice, if you lose a player you could of had, by pursuing someone you had little chance at.

Is it because Madsen's stock is rising again? I ask because I dont know.
