That would be ridiculous, if Markus comeback, Torrence goes back to high school, have 4 or 5 guards for next year already

Not quite.  Joey graduated early from HS and enrolled in January and immediately redshirted.  He was injured and couldn't play anyway, but went ahead a burned a year to get better treatment.

AirPunch is saying that Symir reclassifies and comes to campus in the fall and redshirts his first full season.

So does Joey only have 2 years of eligibility after this season?  Or will he have 3?

3 years left. He will only use 2 though before being drafted 7th overall

3, but he will only have 3 years left on his 5-year clock.

HOWEVER, he could likely get a 5-year rule waiver if he were to get injured again and meet the individual year medical hardship waiver criteria... BECAUSE, that would be TWO years that he 'missed' years due to circumstances outside of his control (e.g., injury).

If Symir came and didn't play in year one, he'd only have 4 years left to play 4 years... and without the 5-year rule waiver argument that Joey would have.

So, a little bit different.

I bet Todd is imagining what he can do with that upper body already.

Got it, thanks.  Wasn't aware of the 5 year rule.

The message is simple: back up mins while honing your craft/learning from Joey/Theo for a title contender in '21, take the reins at the 4/5 the next year to start your own run of dominance

Hard sell to a top 50 4/5 star kid. He may like the "play alongside Theo and Joey in the frontcourt to help us keep the program at a Final 4 level" a bit more. Joey at the 3 and Theo at the 5 allows either of those Minnesota bigs to play the 4 and get to use all their skills more effectively, recruits love that these days
