Smart kid. Those are probably the most exciting home games on each of those team's schedules. Rivalry games with Marquette, Gonzaga, and Washington. Games against blue bloods for Florida and Florida State.

This will be a long recruiting battle, he might forget his visit to MU by March.  Interesting group of schools, 2 warm weather, 2 rainy weather and 1 cold weather. It
gets down to if he wants to play in the Big East.  Hopefully he likes 4 seasons instead of just warm weather in Vegas.

Those could be ugly home results for Florida and Florida State. FSU in particular.

Timing is actually good.  Everyone will have to top our facilities.  It'll be an extremely loud game.  It's not ferociously cold yet.  It will be crappy weather that time of year at Florida and Florida State.

I didn't realize we play basketball outside.

Umm...was this a thing?

Yes. Markus committed to Arizona State and then decommitted when Sendek was fired.

Nice!  I watched one of her games last year.  She's obviously a very talented player.

Honest question, as I don't follow recruiting all that closely. Why are we excited about him? Is he any sort of immediate contributor during our (presumable) contending window next year?

wadesworld

Good thing he signed the dotted line prior to 7:30 PM Central Time yesterday. No backing out.

From what I understand he won't be expected to contribute right away. Possible red-shirt? I believe he will be positioned to take over at PG once Koby Mc graduates.

There is a belief he is a diamond in the rough. He didn't play on one of the sponsored AAU circuits so it is possible that ranking services overlooked him. Supposed to be a defensive specialist PG. I would be surprised if he was an instant contributor but you never know. Corey Evans wrote a blurb about his commitment to Marquette and seemed to really like the match.

So this seemed like a valuable contribution from our rookie poster, GoGoldenEagles.  Thanks, and welcome.

Here's a list of recruits that I believe we have a shot at. If I had to guess I'd say Desmond and Jamari look the most likely to commit. After that it could go anywhere.
1.Jalen Johnson
2.Jalen Suggs
3.Dawson Garcia
4.Julian Strawther
5.Ethan Morton
6.Dain dainja
7.Symir Torrence
8.Jamari Sibley
9.Desmond Polk
10.Justin Lewis
11.Reece Beekman

I'll update the chart at time permits.  Been a little busy as jsglow jr. relocates from San Juan to Seattle by way of a Chicago pass through.

If you guys could take a look at it from my last edit and make any suggestions I'd appreciate.

GoGoldenEagles

Marquette commit Dexter (Chilu) Akanno didn't seem to have the best first game. Based on the stats Dexter struggled shooting. He played 31 minutes in the game, which was the most on his team. On twitter I did see Dwayne Killings Marquette assistant coach was in the building to watch.

Our staff were impressed by the way he defended Manion. Will never know, but maybe someone like him could have defended Langford.

There are a lot of good kids on his team. Maybe we can recruit one of his teammates too.

Oddly this gives me hope. It may be flawed logic, but my assumption is that if he can lead the team in minutes despite a horrendous offensive game, maybe his defense is that good. That's complete speculation with no basis in fact but maybe. Hopefully this kind of offense is first game jitters and not his norm.
