Wojo fooled around and fell in love.

Now you can quit!  You used up your ounce of witty, creative comments for the day on the Bible verse!   :)

Who the sam hill is James Bishop and why isn't he on my board?

FWIW, I don't tweet etc. so I really appreciate when you 'close to the action' guys bring this stuff to this old guy's attention so I can keep the chart accurate on a monthly basis.

That said, additions/subtractions?  Remember the 'rules'.  Prospects we actually have a real shot at/relationship with.  Thanks as always.

Another name to watch is 6-2 guard James Bishop of Baltimore.  I think he was offered in season and visited.  Apparently the staff visited again this spring, Bishop is high on Marquette, and broke out this weekend with a 43 point outburst, including 11 threes.

Corey Evans tweeted out an article with quotes from Bishop:

Indy Saturday: James Bishop goes for 43 points as high-major suitors begin to take form

Saw Steward play a couple of times this year, he has some talent (obviously) but he needs to put on a ton of weight to be successful in college.

My favorite player in the class of 2020 out of Illinois is Tyler Beard from Whitney Young. Only played half the season this year, but he is a ridiculously gifted athlete, really good at finishing at the rim and a good enough shooter.

Fenwick kid (Oak Park). Just read up on him in local paper, mainly about his coach - a Malnati of Lou Malnatis Pizza - leaving after 5 years (former Loyola assistant actually). I’ll definitely check him out next year while reppin’ MU with gear and one-man chants. This one shall not get away like Shumpert!

Malnati has been coaching in Illinois forever. Was at New Trier before taking over at Fenwick.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

3 star combo guard from Ohio. Ranked in the 200s but has some decent programs chasing him including Florida, Xavier, St. John's, Wake Forest, and Temple.

Even with McEwen in the fold it certainly seems like the plan is to recruit another PG in 2019:
DJ Carton
Nico Mannion (if he reclassifies)
Rocket Watts
Mario McKinney Jr
James Bishop
Jalen Gaffney
Paul Mulcahy
Ty Maxey (pretty sure we're out but we were sniffing around)

I'm all for another PG, but I do hope we get another big body in 2019 or 2020. Once Heldt leaves, John will be our only "true" center. I don't think you need a true center to be successful in today's game, but I wouldn't mind at least one more big guy running around.

Agreed. One of our guys must have a 6-10 younger brother, right?

He looks a LOT like wade. We should lock him down.

Probably a topic all it's own, but ...

I wonder what Scoop would have said about the recruitment of Wade, followed by the year-long wait for him to be able to play.

My guess is that the majority of Scoopers would have been excited about him but that there would have been a decent-sized minority either urging lowered expectations or even being negative Nancies.

Even though I lived in Chicago, I didn't know a thing about him when we signed him. Then I took my kids to see Richards play Thornwood (Eddy Curry's HS team), and Wade was spectacular. From that moment on, I couldn't wait for him to suit up for the Warriors.

I think we need to add another big at some point but we also have Ike Eke coming off a redshirt year and Morrow has 2 years of eligibility, correct?

Good point. I mean ... what if 9-9-9 is right and Eke is gonna be a really good pogo stick with a strong neck?!?!
