Since the recruiting thread poll got shut down before I could ask, I'll ask here - is there a way to offer a recruiting table similar to the scholarship table? I don't know all the logistics, but if users could update a table like that, it would be a pretty efficient way to get a handle on the current recruiting situation without reading through so many pages. Have we ever had anything like that here on Scoop?

This one from verbalcommits.com is actually pretty good: http://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/marquette. Doesn't seem like it gets updated that frequently but lists the players MU seems to have an interest in, by year, in a chart.

If only we had 45 scholarships instead of 13 we could recruit most of the guys that you would "love to have as part of our program".......

Can't Wojo just adopt them all

Is the front page here not what you're asking for?

I think it is pretty outdated.  I don't think we are looking at Moss and haven't been for months.  Also I don't think we have been really all that interested in Days either.

Really? I thought I remember TAMU or someone saying we had been after Days, I could be wrong though.

We offered Days a long time ago......how interested either side is at this point is difficult to know. I guess it depends on how many scholarships we end up with in that class and how our roster looks.

Is the front page here not what you're asking for?

If by front page you mean the most recent page in this thread, then no, not really. Even if I read through the last few pages it can be tough to get an idea of where we're currently at given the number of tangents this thread (and many others) can take at times. Just having a clean list of who's being targeted, who has MU as a top school, and what their stats and LOI status are would be great.

Something similar to some of the recently posted links would be awesome if it were updated regularly. Even better would be a landing page that listed the prospects along with basic info but then a link for each to allow users to comment and post links to stories or highlight reels.

Maybe there could be an additional page added similar to "Hanging at the Al" that could be reserved for recruiting? Each topic could be dedicated to a single recruit, and then any commentary or updates would just be posted to that thread. That might be a bit more efficient than the current method. This could work for the NBA thread too.

I have no idea how hard this would be or what logistics are involved, I'm just spitballin' here.

If by front page you mean the most recent page in this thread, then no, not really.

The front page is page 1. Start with the opening post. Is this your first time on a message board?

Actually, yes, this is the only message board I've ever used. The internet was a bit more advanced by the time I was an active user and had moved on past this format.

Thanks for the helpful input, though. Great value add!

Why not start a new recruiting thread on a yearly basis?  That would help erase some of the clutter...this thread is in its fourth year now

Nonsense. Think about all of the threads that have been locked in that time. This thread's resiliency to trolls should be commended and honored

Because recruiting doesn't change between each year. It's a constant, rolling entity.

Why would it make sense to do it each year when 2020 recruits are being looked at now, for example?

You could break it down by class.

Agree.  Balance is continuous and so are transfers. Thus, those items impact all years.  Reader tip:  Read the 1st and last page.  Then, click on JayBee's and Big Daddy's profile and click on their latest posts for more detail.  That will cover 90%+ of all recruiting news.

I think that would make sense. At least that's a little more straightforward than a 12,000 post thread

Obviously. But having more than one thread makes it more straightforward. The point is that the current thread is a bit cumbersome to navigate and to find what you're looking for.

What we could really use would be simple.  A recruiting thread that is stickied and only editable by one or two people... with no replies.  Easily accessible, but leave this thread as discussion.
