Soo...was it ever officially announced that we're not doing the in home this week?  I know the ship has sailed from the sounds of it, but I haven't seen an official announcement from Grimes that he eliminated or that MU isn't doing the last in home.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

MuMark

It has not been announced.....not sure why that matters if we know the recruitment is over.

He may never announce anything until his decision but that doesn't change the fact that he won't be coming here.

I guess it doens't matter...just strange that the national recruiting guys haven't said MU's in home has been cancelled.  Last news was that Texas and MU would be there for visits this week.

So very sorry for your loss BD.  Chick had mentioned it and I failed to reach out over the weekend as I had intended.

ZiggysFryBoy

Grimes needs a 3rd hat on the table when he announces.

Hang in there BD. Know it's tough but cherish the memories.

Lost my sister a few years back so I know first hand what you are facing is tough. But your faith and your friends -- even your Scoop friends -- are here for you.

IF the QG ship has sailed, woj will probably focus in on trying to get Courtney Ramey the louisville decommit, ive seen him play in person and he can really play a good floor general

It doesn't matter since we know he's no longer in the cards, but heard from one of the players that Grimes told guys he was heading to Kansas WHILE ON his visit here.
I certainly wish him the best and hold no ill will but that's kind of an pretty boy move, no?  Anyway, maybe we can get back into the Ramey Sweepstakes.

I would be very surprised if this was true.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

So am/was I.  Considering the source, about as in-the-know as you can get, I'm inclined to believe it.
Again it doesn't matter, and it certainly doesn't change my respect for how Grimes handled his recruitment, just thought I'd share what I was told.

Onto the season.

Litehouse

That would explain why things seemed to cool rather quickly.

esotericmindguy

If true, It doesn't change your perception on how he handled his recruitment? Are you the guy who does the time share tours to get free show tickets in Vegas? Good grief, what a DB.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Let's not do this gentlemen. Don't start disparaging the recruit because he went elsewhere. QG and family have been nothing but class.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

If true, when did Grimes say it?  There's a big difference saying that at the start of the visit or saying it at the end.  Either way Grimes isn't coming to MU so I won't obsess or speculate too much on this.

Grimes posted an updated highlight video of himself on twitter yesterday.  My gawd is he good.  Its a damn shame.  I had to unfollow him.   :-\

Well it should change your opinion of him. I am sure MU spent a lot of money to bring him in for a visit. It is pretty low of to come for a visit he already made up his mind to go to Kansas. Probably what the assistant's coach's tweet was about when he said something about playing a fool.

Lots of good pub from him keeping us in the game. The state school,Texas, like with Stone and Tokoto, was always going to be the bridesmaid. Consider us the runner up.

Next man up!

Agree. My guess is even if Wojo knew he was Kansas bound he would have encouraged QG to take his visit - as you say, good publicity for the program.

So.    2018 PG's?

It's probably waaaaaaaaaay too early to think about this, but...

Ahmaad Rorie, RS Jr, Montana: 6'1", 175 lbs. Rorie played close to 20 mpg as a reserve for Oregon as a freshman but transferred after seeing his role diminish late. As a redshirt sophomore at Montana, he showed he could score at all three levels while also distributing the ball well without turning it over. He posted averages of 17.6 ppg/3.5 rpg/3.1 apg/1.5 tpg while boasting a lofty 115.7 ORtg and 52.2 eFG%. He was effective against high majors as well, posting averages of 16.6 ppg/3.2 rpg/2.4 apg in 5 contests with high majors. He would be eligible to graduate transfer after this season.

Tayler Persons, RS Jr, Ball State: Persons is a sharpshooting guard who started his career at Northern Kentucky. He is also one of the best distributors in the country. Averaged 15.5 ppg/3.9 rpg/4.9 apg last year with a 107.4 ORtg and 53.3 eFG%. Hasn't proven himself at the high major level but fills up the stat sheet in multiple categories.

Deshon Taylor, RS Jr, Fresno State: He didn't do much when he came to Milwaukee last year, just 4 points and 2 assists. He ended the year on a tear, scoring at least 13 points in his final 16 games. For the season, Taylor averaged 12.5 ppg/2.4 rpg/2.1 apg with an ORtg of 118.9 and 53.3 eFG%. He might be more of a combo guard, but his comps on Pomeroy last year include Carrington Love (UWGB), Kendrick Nunn (Illinois), and Isaiah Canaan (Murray State).

Clam Crowder

Have we seen anything at all officially saying from Grimes that MU is out or is this all based on lack of smoke from him on any commitment? If the guy wants to pick KU then what is the hold-up? Texas was just in to see him so maybe those are the final 2 but has there been a definitive indication that MU is out? I haven't seen anything so I am genuinely curious.

The most connected guy in the state posted that MU is out. Pretty sure we're just a third hat on the table for decoration.
