No sh*t sherlock..but the Hausers and Henry are in state kids. I'm talking about out of state 5** kids like Grimes.

Do in-state kid's baskets only count for one point or something?

Understatement of the year.

GA, you dropped a couple nuggets earlier in this thread about QG, are you going to expand on those?? Or leave us all hanging??

Nope, but come on..they are in state kids, that always SHOULD be an advantage. Start beating UK, KU, Duke, UNC for out of state 5*kids, and THEN MU can start their ascension back towards the elite.

Michigan State doesn't count?

I am with you on in state vs out of state recruiting battles. Winning recruiting battles on national front is for elite programs. Land Grimes and program looked at differently around the country.

Exactly! +1000...The bounce from something like that cannot ever be underestimated.

I just spoke to Cheesy.  Gard pulled it off.  Grimes to Wisconsin.  Joey to de-commit.  Marquette basketball officially off the map.

It's Wojo's third year.  Rome wasn't built in a day.

Winning makes people look at you differently.  Schools like NC State and Mississippi State have pulled in highly rated recruits.  How did that work out for them?

You have to win first.  That will bring in the national recruits.  Izzo's national championship in 2000 was with a team that was almost entirely kids from Michigan.

Just be patient.

I'm talking about winning recruiting battles for OUT OF STATE(5*) kids against the Kentucky's, the Kansas's, the UNC's, the Duke's of the world.

So what ur saying is if we had a hypotetical lineup next year that consisted of the Hausers, Henry, Diamond Stone, Herro and a few other wisconsin kids and won the national championship u would be pissed off?!
Get over urself.  Wojo is building a program,  hes getting really good recruits from instate and in the region.  Who gives a crap where they are from!!?? But in the meantime, Not too many 5 stars look to go cross country to play for a brand new coach with a .500 record and 1 NCaa appearance.  Yet he has amassed some really really good talent.  A couple more torneys and a second weekend run or two and he probably starts getting some of these guys.  It doesnt happen over night.  His recruiting in my opinion has actually been very very good considering what he walked into.  Meaning hes doing an outstanding job of selling himself and the program.  A little more sustained success under his belt and the same sales job will result in even higher level recruits.
Mu guru im sure u are a resounding success in ur business career and no doubt have established a modern day business empire.  Please shed light on us on how u became one of the most powerful business men in the country in your first couple of years. I would like to know the secrets to ur success, as im sure others would as well

Spot on post.

While I like the trajectory Wojo has MU on, he still has much to prove. Especially, when competing against the Bill Self's and John Capalari's of the world.

Wojo could make a bold statement and show up to gym while Cal is there today. Show some love to Herro. Joey wanted to play with Herro I know that for a fact.

I want you to watch how things develop in the next couple years at MU.  With or without Quentin Grimes, Maarquette is going to be rising and it's going to be a tough out in the NCAA tournament.  Even if Grimes doesn't come to MU, we could be seeing Bailey, Joey Hauser and Morrow joining an already developing team and just remember, todays college basketball is really different if you have an upperclass dominated team compared to the one and done dominated programs that you call elite.

After many, many years of following recruiting, I don't even worry about it anymore as it's in great hands at MU.  Enjoy the ride.
