Stan isn't following him anymore either. It's over, on to the next one.

So... someone enlighten me on why we wouldn't go after Herro. I get that we wouldn't touch him while the whole QG thing was playing out and the scholarships were full. I believe Freeport has alluded to some things, but it seems he definitely is looking at some different type of options. It's not everyday that a top 40 guard is available who lives within 15 miles of campus. Are the Hausers not big fans? There has to be more than a demanding dad and a kid who wants to go to the NBA.

I don't know enough to know, but there is plenty of smoke and Wojo has his reasons.  I'm good with that.

Grimes Tweets "3" like he did "6" when he eliminated Zona.  Stan unfollows Grimes, Grimes unfollows Wojo, Stan Tweets about rejection.  The pieces aren't hard to put together here.  He gowne.

But we definitely had a shot, and we had absolutely nothing to lose.  Would've been an awesome luxury to add, but we'll still be really dang good next year.  If we can add Ramey or Herro so be it, but I for one am excited with what we have going into next year.

MomofMUltiples

Frankly, I'm wondering whether Kansas and Kentucky sniffing around Herro is what made Grimes pull the trigger.  Each of them has already acquired a top 25 PG, and if Grimes was leaning toward either of them he'd want to beat Herro to the punch.
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

I will believe we are officially out when someone "in the know" says that we are no longer visiting him this week. However, I have to admit this is feeling more and more like we will wear the dreaded "bridesmaids" dress on the QG recruitment.

QG no longer following Wojo and Stan no longer following QG sure isn't the best of signs. He hasn't come out and said I am not going to MU but close to it.

QG isn't following any of the KU or Texas coaches either, or any of the UK assistants. Only Calipari, who didn't even go to his scheduled in home visit yesterday.

I'd agree with you if he didn't also unfollow all the KU and UT coaches. And all the UK assistants. Something is up, but it's not just MU being eliminated and everyone else still being in play.

Was he ever following them?

Why would Stan unfollow a recruit we have been chasing for months, and then tweet an inspirational message centered around "rejection" at the same time? I mean lets get real...

BD hopefully you have awoken from your jet lagged slumber. Any news to stop the panic or to put us out of suspense?

Grimes probably "soft-blocked" them all. It's when you block someone and instantly unblock them and it makes them unfollow you.
I say that because I highly doubt that the first thing Wojo and Stan did *if* Grimes told them he's not coming here is go on twitter and unfollow him

4everwarriors

Emphasizes once again just how hard it is to break into that next level of recruit. May be coincidental but, things when south pretty quickly after his visit.

Just really sucks getting kicked in the nuts like this. Hard for MU to ever break into the elite of CBB, when you can't land kids like this.  :(

This is probably true since he is following about 80 less people than yesterday. And with that, I'm done analyzing a recruit's twitter account

Anyone think that maybe Grimes told all the schools that he had enough information to make a decision and would within the next two weeks, but that he'd appreciate radio silence during that time so he can make a decision with his family.

He then "soft-blocked" all of them, to get rid of distractions.

To me that is the most likely scenario here.

I will buy that explanation for now. The only other thing left outstanding then is the Stan tweet about rejection. Maybe it ties into his statement of playing the fool to fool the fool that thinks he is fooling someone...either that or Stan was under some type of influence when he tweeted that one ;D

Vander Blue Man Group

Disappointing but we're still going to be really, really good next year.

Hopefully not getting him doesn't change Wojo's perspective.

You guys have got to suck it up.    The 18-19 roster is solid.   Depth and talent everywhere.    MU didn't 'lose' Grimes.   We never had him.   (Maybe) MU failed to 'get' Grimes.     Wisconsin 'lost' Herro.      MU went hard after a 5 star guard with the intention of oversigning and expecting someone to leave.   Grimes wasn't a 'need', he was a (reallyreallyreallyreally) 'want'.      The pieces and players are in place for 18-19.    Grimes is that really expensive coat that you want for Christmas.   An awesome luxury.  The meat, potatoes, lodging and heat are all in place.

But he did this after tweeting, then deleting just the number 3 multiple times last night? None of this makes sense, oh well.

For all we know, Coach Cal blew off the Grimes visit and the tweet about rejection was for Grimes to ignore the rejection and focus on the other opportunities.

We all need to really quit trying to decipher tweets and twitter follows.  99% chance we get it wrong.

Would you Debbie Downers all chill out for a second?  My God.  You're letting the social media decisions of a high school senior bring you WAY down.
Marquette is not out of this yet.  He tweeted out a "3" last night at 9:30 and with all the Herro-to-UK momentum / Cal cancelling Grimes' in-home and instead coming to see Herro, the logical thought would be that UK is out because UK has moved on to Herro.

So what's changed in the last 12 hours?  The follow/unfollow game on Twitter (and ambiguity about who was following whom anyway)?  It appears he's following 80 less people than yesterday ^, so that tells me nothing substantial.  Stan tweets out some vague bullshit?  He tweets out crap like that all the time.  Buzz did the same, and a thousand other coaches do as well.  Now maybe it's all valid smoke but as of last night there were still 3 teams involved, and I'm under the impression MU is still one of them.  Until Big Daddy or Cheesy/Tommy tell me otherwise, I'm under the impression we're still in it.

Incredible analysis! I'm dead serious.

Maybe Stan heard from De'Vion Harmon - who is announcing on Friday?

Although, I agree it appears Grimes is going elsewhere.

We R Final Four

How about holding off on judgement until QG commits, hey?
As far as I have heard, QG has not eliminated us, so let's not act like he has.
