Mark Berman has us at 8

Up from 10.

So far we have moved up in everyone's ballot that has been revealed.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I'll guess 10 as of now and 9 if MSU loses.  I think the big wins behind us are too many votes behind.

LSU lost at home to Florida this week.  Texas Tech maybe.

Don't overlook the regency bias.... remember when MU lost to St Johns midweek, but then beat Nova on NMD and didn't move at all?  Florida is - arguably - even less a slouch that St Johns.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

That's why MU's gotta stay at the Hyatt Regency.    ;)

Our not dropping after that week had more do with other teams losing as well.  We were 10, 11 VT had an 0-2 week, 12 Houston passed us, 9 MSU had a 1-1 week with their loss coming against Illinois so we passed them, 12 Kansas had a 1-1 week with the win coming against Okla St which was not as impressive as Nova, 14 Nova obviously lost, and 15 Purdue had a 2-0 week but they were 300+ points behind us, and closed that gap to just 50 points the next week.  Between the week 14 polls and the week 15 polls, numbers 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 16 all lost at least one game.  When everybody wins, or everybody loses there's not much movement to be had.

I'd be shocked if we were anything but 10. I think the highest possible this week is 9, depending on how voters treat Michigan and Tennessee.

Isn't it past 11 back there now?

Steele will tweet it long before the AP puts it on their site. They're terribly slow with this.

Yes but the AP system works as well as a square wheel

Hmm interested to see how the votes went this week.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

The biggest joke of all is that Kansas only dropped to 15. They got crushed by 30 and only dropped 3 spots.

I would say that the biggest joke is that we only gained 32 points this week...Kansas deservingly lost 221

Right, no love for rock solid wins. Not unreasonable for any top 25 team to slip up against Butler or @Providence.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

213 votes out of 6th place. 199 votes ahead of 14th place, but a healthy 439 vote cushion between us and 15th.

213 votes can be made up with 2 wins for us and 1 loss for the teams in front of us.

Go Indiana, ECU, UCF, Nebraska, Maryland, Ole Miss, and Kentucky, my 2nd favorite teams this week! Rankings are dumb, but I'm with Boxer, since I attended Marquette I have never seen Marquette break the #8 barrier. I'd like to see us get there.
