Kolek planning to go pro
Just finished the delicious pork quesadillas my wife made -- pork loin, sauteed peppers and onions, my homemade guac, a nice salsa.Gonna have to be close enough to tacos.
Trayf, aina?
I'm gonna.side with JWags here. He's 100% correct on the street taco (carnitas, carne asada) with onion and cilantro . It also must be on a soft corm tortilla with a splash of a hot salsa being optional. While your quesadillas sound delicious, they are not tacos and may be illegal or at least a disqualification on National Taco Day.
But is a taco a sandwich?
TAMUI do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.
What is the best Mexican beer? Maybe I should have gotten a Tecate.
PacificoSolNegro Modelothat order... imo
I'm not sure I've had Sol.
I only eat American food
A lot of the tacos are here illegally. Get a certificate when you buy one.
Only if you're a heretic
I say it's a sandwich and only those with an unflinchingly orthodox definition of "sandwich" can say otherwise. As the internet has so sagely determined, a hotdog is a sandwich. Therefore, a taco can be a sandwich as well.Time and the evolution of language stop for no man. Get with the times.
I say it is not a sandwich due to the existence of Tortas, so its not as if its just the cultural version of a sandwich for a region. The same way I don't consider a gyro to be a sandwich.
I'm in an ingredient rebel and structure orthodox. I don't care what you put in it, but it has to be something between two separate pieces of the same thing. A hot dog is only a sandwich if you separate the bun.
What if the bun accidentally comes apart? Did your meal transform right in front of your eyes?
Rico identifies as a taco.
Are the ingredients not between the sides of the tortilla? Are you eating your tacos lying open and flat with a knife and fork? Who's the heretic now?
A Philly cheesesteak isn’t a sandwich to you?? Unless you break apart the bread into two pieces??
So, would a quesadilla be a sandwich?
And what about Subway?
This is all covered by the cube rule
This is all covered by the cube rulehttps://cuberule.com/Subway, cheesesteaks, and hot dogs are all forms of tacos unless you break the bun apart.A quesadilla, if it's closed like a mexican quesadilla, is a calzone (much like poptarts). If it's open like american quesadillas then its a taco
If you make your taco into a torta it's a sandwich. But one tortilla equals a taco, a second cousin of the sandwich
Monzon Brewery Puerto Vallarta
what about a street taco that uses two tortillas thusly:tortilla-tortilla-fillings?
If I'm reading correctly, that's an open faced sandwich, sandwiches most awkward cousin
This may be heresy but our house has become big fans of Trader Joe soy chorizo.
Ty Galway! How have you been?
I’ve been. Good stuff (owners are Seattleites so more IPAs and hazies) but beer is pricey for PV. Los Muertos in PV is solid beer and has a great happy hour. When I was there in 2021 happy hour pints were under $2.
I also forgot Victoria.I'm a bigger fan of some of the Caribbean island beers. Piton, Carib, Presidente, and Banks.
How does a chalupa fit into the cube rule? Its got a starch layer in the middle of two fillings
Chalupa is lasagna.
^^^ ban dis guy
Didn't care for los muertos imo was a great environment and enjoyed one beer but the rest of them were very "meh"Good, doing well just lost pride in my alma mater from coming here so wanted to take a step away after a decade plus newly married and me not on here as much was in her prenup. Hope all is well and that the animals are flourishing.
Just a heads up that Saturday is National Pierogi Day. If you don't have a potato ricer you better get one as well as break out your rolling pins.
but is a pierogi a sandwich?
Side note: If you like pierogis, you have to attend Pierogi fest in Whiting Indiana in July.
Pierogies are of course part of the dumpling family and score quite well on the UDS (Ultimate Dumpling Scale). But there is a caveat because people mess with the classic potato/onion filling. It's also worth noting that dumpling ratings and competition is cut-throat and there are only a handful a people with expertise in dumplingology.
Boiled or pan fried
Pan fried with chopped up bacon. Yum!
