Looking at the schedule, the packers realistic only win the rest of the season is Miami at home in December.  2-15 is the ceiling.

I'm not trolling here, but that was as uninspiring of a performance I've seen in a long time.

Home opener, against a terrible Atlanta team, and get absolutely trounced.

I don't know what they do either. No 1st round pick, can't trade Love or Parsons. Ugly start with not a lot of hope.

No trolling taken, that was the most un-inspiring of game I have ever watched for the packers.  Not a single positive to take away.

Trounced by a team that had not had a red zone possession in their first two games.   At home.

I had some more thoughts after last night's debacle.

1. Should be some questions about strength and conditioning in GB.  No doubt the offensive struggles hold some blame but that defense was gassed after 3 series.  The Falcons played 3 games in 11 days, too.  Wonder if that isn't part of why they scuffle in second halves, too.

2. Having Love play that last series after taking another beating was coaching malpractice.

3. If they move on from the coach, the GM has to go, too.

Everyone has to go. There have been media reports in the past on how they don't like moving on from assistant coaches because of the guaranteed money. And the two coaches in question - Stenovich and Butkus - are the main culprits.

The talent on the OL is not good. Yes, they're decimated, but trusting your injured OT and your injured guard (who was bad regardless, but at least a passable level of bad) to not be injured, is negligent. The OL seems between identities of who they were as an outside zone team with Aaron Jones and a Duo scheme under Jacobs. But that's beside the point when you can't protect your most important asset and give him time to throw to what appears to be an at least "good" set of WRs. He's seeing ghosts out there.

That's really it. This season will get worse because of the lack of 1st round pick, but that remains the correct trade with bad luck. Combining that all-in trade with half-assed OL construction is outweighs any of the good.

It's honestly hard to judge the defense right now - there's so much slanted against them when they're getting killed by time of possession. I don't think they're good, but they're not the reason for the overall team performance in each of the first 3 weeks.

Sidebar - Bijan is really fun to watch - his pacing is similar to Leveon Bell with a significantly better athletic profile.

I'll come up for air on this team once the Brewers' season ends, whenever that is, and we'll see if they're still kicking. I doubt it - we haven't seen the bottom yet.

The Packers look like they have lost the plot on all the "necessary not sufficient" parts of being a good football team. I think the talent evaluation at the skill positions and for the most dynamic personnel moves in trades (Parsons) and free agency (McKinney, Jacobs) has generally been quite good. But a broad degradation of the least flashy parts of an operation is just what happens when a leadership team has run its course.

They should have never extended Gutey or MLF in the off-season when they still had a year to go on their contract.

This team died in Denver. And it thought that running it back healthy would be sufficient, when in reality these cracks existed all of last year.

My concern is they cobble together a few too many late season wins and convince themselves to run it back again.
