Quote from: WhiteTrash on August 14, 2026, 12:16:17 PMI was just being funny. You were the one who pointed out he was dealing "external issues". The external issue is a list of felonies that could result in life in prison. Not a very common "external issue" and slightly different than drugs, domestic abuse, DUI, etc.

I never said he was going to jail. I guess I could have said facing potential life in prison, but I didn't think anyone would examine my words on a flippant remark.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with the signing. If he is not guilty, he deserves to play football or any career he wishes.

His sentence will be commuted and he'll be forced to play his entire career with the Browns

It's all good. Sometimes sarcasm doesn't come out in posts.

I've always been a big believer that most people deserve second chances, though I admit that I haven't followed Arnold's case closely. As always, the U.S. justice system (and NFL's justice system) will say a lot about whether he plays so much as one down for the Seahawks.

I don't even know if Arnold was any good during his two seasons with the Lions, though I have learned to trust the personnel decisions of John Schneider and Mike Macdonald.

Thanks for your perspective, Tower.

Schneider and Macdonald haven't been perfect with their personnel decisions, but they've been darn good. So I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with any Seahawks acquisition, including this one. If he ever plays a down in Seattle, that is.

Detroit brought in a lot of secondary help prior to Arnold's escapade.  This was considered a make or break season, as his first two had been marked by injuries and mediocre play.

Bagent is the second best QB in the NFCN. And Case Keenum might be 4th.

When they play in Bears weather, no one in the league is better than any Bears QB

Global warming is why their quarterback play has been suffering.

Hammond weather will not help that.

I know the NFL talks about the testing of its helmets but doubt it's been tested in Chernobyl

Jeremiyah Love's 14 touches were by far the most in a preseason game by a first-round rookie RB in the past 10 seasons. Why give him so many? "I mean, it's a rookie that hadn't played," first-year head coach Mike LaFleur said, adding that he essentially decided to give him such a big workload just to see how Love could handle it.

Answer: Not well. Love sprained his ankle and is out for at least the rest of the preseason.

Has your team drafted two Hall of Fame kickers this decade?!

It's possible Tom Brady is no longer the greatest 6th round pick.

Anyone else have extremely limited to no interest in preseason NFL?  I'm overall a fairly decently sized NFL fan and I've not been as excited about going into a Bears season in a decade plus, but I just have really no interest in watching the preseason.  I'll read recaps and Bears writers perspectives on who has looked good, surprised, etc... but otherwise, I'm fine till September.  I didn't even remember the Bears played today until my wife mentioned it.  If you have a young rookie QB like the Raiders, ok, I get it.  I was the same way a few years ago.  But otherwise, its not good football at best (horrific at worst) and it just doesn't move the needle.  I didn't want to watch a full half of Miller Moss at Louisville or USC, much less as a Bear.

I'm a big nfl fan and watch plenty of non-Packers game. I care less about preseason than trying to protect manatees.

Zero interest in the games. Hell, it would be less than zero if that were mathematically possible.

The only thing that matters to me is that no one on my team gets hurt.

Wow, really?  NFL preseason is boring and not worth the time?  You heard it here first folks.  I was just going to post I long for the days of 6 preseason and 14 regular season games.
