My brother's best friend from high school was York's roommate at Notre Dame. My brother has hung out with York quite a few times (not recently).

My brother's response when this news hit: "Not surprised".

Similarly, one of my best friends grew up in Warren, just outside Youngstown.  His response was basically..."I learned in the 20+ years my family lived near Youngstown to never be surprised by the baffling, trashing, or disturbing things that happen to people in Youngstown...rich, poor, or otherwise."

Then he referenced a classmate of his best friend growing up who went to one of the private HS's in Youngstown.  Not Debartolo levels of money, but from a very wealthy old money family there.  Went to Case and then got an MBA at Wharton.  Moved to Chicago and then Columbus working in finance.  Headed back to Youngstown by his late 20s cause he was "bored" with the bigger cities and missed Youngstown.  By 30 he was in prison after he wrapped a car around a pole after driving under the influence of multiple narcotics, also with a prostitute...for the second time since moving back to Youngstown.
