If Dibami is the only big man addition this spring then Shaka will not be the coach here in 12 months.  Dibami is not a starter at this level.

I am going off of that video MU posted.  If they were leaving, they wouldn't be working out with the team.  Pretty simple.

Or they are waiting to see what next year's roster looks like, because there will be additions.

Is the banquet tonight? Slip 'em some truth serum and let's get some answers.

I don't think it's all that uncommon to see players who will eventually leave still in practices until decisions are finalized. When I was a student manager for 5 minutes it was well known Jamail Jones (shoutout JJJJJ) was leaving and he still practiced with the team, Sandy Cohen and Steve Taylor later with Wojo, etc. Hell, when Shaka first got the job he was in Instagram videos with DJ "THE HUMAN HIGHLIGHT" Carton and DJ left like a week later.

Quote from: Jay Bee on April 09, 2026, 04:00:14 PMWhat does that mean, "will end up making"? In the context of getting deals from schools, it's limited in what I think it could mean, but.. wondering when you say it, what does that mean?

"Will end up making" simply when they commit to whatever school. Sorry, should have worded that better.

Who can we get and be a significant help?
Let's hope we can get 3 out of the 40 who have not already signed with another school.

If Shaka were going to cut Clark and/or Hamilton loose, I would think he would have done it in a way that would maximize their chances at landing elsewhere. That means telling them so they can enter the portal as early as possible.

Hanging on to them and waiting until the portal has been open for a while and teams have started to fill their roster spots doesn't seem like an approach Shaka would take.

That would be kinder and gentler than putting them on Muggsy's Medieval rack.

I was asking what it meant... as in, you're talking about a contract for direct payments from the school (eg, "revenue share")?

Myles Byrd to Providence

There was a lot of wishful thinking around here that he would wind up at MU.

I really only watch MU games but I get so upset when I hear someone I didn't know existed before 2 minutes ago didn't choose my Alma Mater.  Screw him!!!

So they lose Oswin and get Byrd. Who got the better deal, Creighton or Providence?

Vander Blue Man Group

That Providence is reportedly flush with resources is a bit of a surprise to me.  Has that been widely known?

methinks ppl don't quite understand the rules and such.

It's pretty common for new coaches to get a bump in resources, so I'm not surprised they made a nice signing like Byrd.

Yup.  Schools, coaches and agents are following the rules.

Especially fine, Catholic schools like Providence. Frankly UConn and Butler should simply be thankful we allow them in this conference despite being heathens.

Gotta admit ... if Byrd's a player we were really targeting, I'm a little disappointed to see him end up at another BE school - especially one that isn't UConn, StJ or Creighton.

Why those schools specifically?

Sucks we couldn't get him, but at least he's in the Big East. I'd definitely prefer he land here rather than the SEC.
