Next man up.  Hoping to have 8 players available Saturday.  Two of my favorite teams competing to see who can be most banged up.
Anyway....
Who starts if Chase can't go?  Obviously, either DO or Royce.  I lean toward Royce.   Mainly due to DO's versatility.  You can sub DO in for any starter, assuming Kam, Stevie, Jop, Royce, Ben.

If MU is only dressing 8, everyone is going to get all of the minutes they can handle.

Why is Amadou not playing? Have I missed something?

MUfan12

Al is redshirting.

It depends on how they're gonna play it defensively. If they're still switching everything, then I think Damarius probably should start.

Then it should be reflected in the scholarship table.

See, this is peak Scoop.  You have a very reasonable question designed to have good discussion, and the very first response is completely off topic, followed by complaining about the off topic player. I love it.

As to the OP, I would agree that in a vacuum I would probably start Royce. It's all about matchups though and IDK enough about Madison to make a concrete prediction, so I'll just go get my morning Arby's.

Well, to be fair, the mods got their fat paychecks and quit updating the scholarship table and how do you expect fans that follow the team to know Al was redshirting when that wasn't updated?

They thought the new server updated it automatically.

Yup.  But he had played well in the first half.  Parham went off in the second.  To me, it was a push.  Just my opinion, start Parham, have DO to plug in anywhere and everywhere.

I probably agree with you on Parham. That said, Owens is going to continue to get more and more minutes, and it does not matter if he starts or not.

tower912

Agreed.  However, when Chase and Zaide are healthy, those minutes will still be tempered by how he defends.

But, man, it was fun to watch him and Royce attack on offense.

I am very, very happy that Chucky is no longer at UW.

You said the teams were competing to see who is most banged up.

In what way are the Badgers banged up?

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

I would start Owens.  Norman backs up the 3 guards, Royce backs up the 2 forwards.  Hamilton plays very limited minutes.

Very tight rotation. Tre plays about 10-12 minutes, Caedin probably 5 or less. Top 6 play the rest.

Jop, Royce, and Gold will have to play together at times. Everyone is going to need to bring their A-game.

Sorry I don't follow everyone's personal preferences.

wisblue

On the original question I would expect Owens to start because it would be the closest to the normal starting lineup. I would also expect Norman to sub in early, as Shaka seems to like to get everyone a taste of the game early. With only 8 players that won't be hard.

It probably doesn't make much difference anyway because total minutes for the game are probably going to be dictated by fouls and fatigue.

Losing Lowrey and Ross is going to make it a lot easier for the Badgers guards to drive to the basket where they won't meet the kind of resistance they did against Michigan.
