Honestly, considering it's the day after a loss, scoop's lack of angst and doom is one of the great sports upsets of this century

35- Kam
35- Stevie
30- Joplin
25- Ben
25- Damarius
25- Royce
15- Tre
10- Caedin

Rounded minutes projection. If Kam can go 40 again, great. If Jop can go more than 30, fine. Gotta get 200 somehow!

Quote from: Uncle Rico on December 05, 2024, 07:17:53 AMWell, to be fair, the mods got their fat paychecks and quit updating the scholarship table and how do you expect fans that follow the team to know Al was redshirting when that wasn't updated?

Sorry, did you need something?

To be fair (cue JB), it's not a redshirt until he sits out the entire season.  But yes, normally I would have updated the table by now.

That's a good point.  69 needs to suck it up

Perhaps, the algorithm can't differentiate between AI and Al and had no idea what a red shirt for the computer overlord meant.

It will be Royce or Damarius.

Quote from: WarriorFan on December 05, 2024, 01:22:10 PMIf Lowery is ready he should start.  If he's not, then Norman.  With the other starters, defense is far more important than offense for the Ross position.  Let the frosh watch a few minutes and understand the speed of the game and the intensity of the matchups before they get in.

They have already said that Lowery would be out for both games this week......Ross has been listed as doubtful.......i assume Owens will start since Shaka tends to prefer 3 ball handlers and he'd be replacing A perimeter guy not Jop or Gold.

The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Now that it's game day, as I think about this, if Ross cannot start, it might make sense to start Norman in his place. He can start the game, trying to play aggressive defense, without being concerned as much about foul trouble as you would be if Owens were starting.

I think defense early in the game is critical. The Badgers have taken control and set the tone in each of the last two games by coming out blazing on three point shots and Marquette has spent the rest of the games trying to come back.

tower912

I disagree with that. With only 3 healthy guards, I think one should start the game on the bench.  And with only 3 bench players, IMO you should have on big, one wing, and one guard to sub in.

Start Owens and don't overthink this.  Then pray there isn't foul trouble today, because    we're down to 7 guys who will/can contribute.  Hamilton being #7.

Wisconsin starts two bigs.  Start Parham match up with one.

If Chase can't go I would also start Parham.  But it's time for Tre to step up.  You go in there, play with intense fire and tenacity defensively, and have confidence on the offensive end.  He has the tools.  It's time for a complete team effort.  Period.

Which of Tonje, Blackwell, or Klesmit do you put Joplin on?

tower912

It doesn't matter.   Better him than one of the frosh.

That's true if you only count contributions on offense.

If Ross can't play, Norman is going to play 10-15 minutes regardless. Whether he starts or not may not be important because Shaka always subs in a couple at or just before the first media timeout anyway.

Well, if Joplin drives in the lane today, I hope he knows he'll be losing valuable NIL $$$

Looks like you're debating yourself.

Like I said before I don't think it matters much who starts because all 8 of the available scholarship players will see action within the first 10 minutes.

Where it goes from there might be dictated by how the game unfolds.

If the Badgers make 8 of their first 9 3 point shots like they did two years ago,  or Klesmit hits 4 straight early in the game like he did last year, or if Tonje draws enough fouls to be on pace for 20 free throws for the game, the original defensive plans and substitution patterns may have to be altered.
