Tight?  You guys?

I don't understand.

edit: Oh, I figured it out.  You think Rocky and I know each other in any capacity other than this board.  Pretty funny, but not wholly unpredictable considering your proclivity for conspiracy theories.

between this and color blind society-i guess i thought you were a little more astute

how often do you listen to Homer's game call? I'll admit, I turn down tv almost every game to listen to his call. Sometimes is difficult to sync tv/radio, but that's ok. I think his love for Marquette is awesome. When Markus Howard dropped +50 at Providence...Homer was incredible! When MU beat Kentucky in the ncaa's in '03, it sounded like Homer and George were in tears. Awesome!! Homers quirky imperfections are fun, imo.
Keep calling games Homer!!!

I've listened to him plenty over the years. The personality you described is much better suited to color commentator. I think he could probably work well enough in that role. But play-by-play, especially on the radio, requires a set of responsibilities that Homer simply cannot fulfill. That might be more apparent if you listened to him without the TV broadcast, when you can't see the action and need it described to you.

Can we just get Pat Hughes back?

I just found out that before the cubbies, pat Hughes did marquette with Al.

What about Wojo? He's tanned and available!

We are paying him through the nose anyway. So can we get something for it?

>:(

TV not radio.  Pat was great.

Pat Hughes and Ron Sanyo were my alttine favorite sports broadcasting duo. Would have loved to hear Pat do MU games.

He isn't available.

Believe Hughes was on the call with Al for Wardle's game winner in '98 at Louisville.  And for Hutchins game winner at Louisville in '96.

RIP Ron. I used to love the contrast between those two.

Didn't Ron Sanyo go on to found an electronics company in Japan?

Believe Hughes was on the call with Al for Wardle's game winner in '98 at Louisville.  And for Hutchins game winner at Louisville in '96.

You have a great memory, Hutch, because Pat Hughes did work the Wardle game with Al. And the reason I remember that is because my crew of 4-5 guys were at that game and immediately afterwards we hustled from Freedom Hall back downtown to the Hyatt where we were staying. We ducked into a bar on the second floor of the hotel that was just opening around 4 pm. No one in the place except the bartender so we started shooting pool and pounding beers. 20 minutes later in walks Homer and George. 5 minutes after that comes Hughes and Al. 10 minutes later Mike Deane and the coaching staff showed up. Then one of the Journal writers.

The place was tucked away and kind of small and no one else in there but the above. My buddies and I didn't want to intrude but after all we were in there first. So for the next 2 hours we just kept our mouths shut and listened. The stories were flowing as fast as the beer was flowing. George and Al were in top form. It was actually kind of surreal to be there.

So Hutch, that's how I can confirm that Pat Hughes worked the Wardle game.

If Pat & Al were on the 98 Louisville call that was TV.

bc Homer's radio call is pretty iconic...

He hit it, he hit it...a  three.  Three times in a row Marquette beats Louisville.
