Did you hear that some ND players had to take final exams this past week?  Oh, the horror.  Quite the gauntlet only ND players have to endure.  Like no others.

Well, Notre Dame so thoroughly kicked Indiana's tail in, they had to fill the air with something.

Must have been awful.  I'd have turned the TV to a different channel if it bothered me so much.

Nice to see the pundits running with the "Indiana was a joke" story lines.

Well, they're stupid if they are.  Indiana earned the right to be in the playoff by going 11-1 and having the largest margin of victory.  Wasn't their fault the Big Ten gave them the schedule they had

Strength of schedule is your friend.

Hope some of the later games are better than the first two. So far, playoff expansion has proven to me that expansion was not necessary

If Mich, USC, PSU, Wisconsin played there same schedule with the same record, nobody would question their inclusion.

Yup.  Indiana did what they had to do.

SMU was always the at-large with the biggest question mark. They aren't keeping out an 11-1 Big Ten team for 9-3 SEC teams - but an 11-2 ACC team? That would have been understandable.

I'm sure the Alabama faithful are handling these early games extremely gracefully.

PGsHeroes32

Ill just keep saying it

The issue isnt having 12 teams(even tho its unnecessary) or even the teams they chose. Its the format which is likely to change instantly.

Penn State losing to both Ohio State and Oregon but getting 50 times the draw is mental. Handing out auto byes by conference creates far better chance for a joke of an opening round

Let 12 teams in. Reward teams that didnt lose. All thats manageable. But for the love of god you have to seed the 12 appropriately 1-12.

Sage advice.

It's kinda funny listening to the golden dipsh1ts giving each other verbal reach arounds...and then not knowing how stupid they sound.

Last night's commentary just reinforced...ND sucks!

I don't disagree with anything you said, but I'm not sure how to fix it. If you handled who gets in by eye test, Bama would be in. But the sample size is too small to assume ranking will take care of itself in an 12 team format, especially with the season ending with conf championships and rivalry games. Given the weird format, the only answer would be to let higher seed teams choose their opponent, but they'll never do that.

Each year, there are maybe 2-3 teams that are legit national title contenders.  The rest are just fodder.

We'll get some upsets every once in awhile but the truth is, there will be a lot of teams in the playoff that really don't have a chance

They just have to do a way with the assured byes.

3 of the 4 teams with byes don't deserve one.

Ohio State is ranked 8th due to the format rules currently. When even with the Michigan stinker they are talent wise a top 3 team and resume wise no worse than 6(and even that is extremely pushing it)

And also, you cant fully not punish teams just for making title games

Penn State lost to Oregon more convincingly than OSU did, neutral vs away too. ANd lost at home to OSU

They cannot have a high seed simply because Big10 scheduling got them into the league title game that they ultimately lost
