Mass shooting in Chicago on Chicago and State near Holy Name Cathedral, 6 people shot. Probably won't make the news so posting it here for those interested.

Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country. No rifles have been reported. Could have just as easily been a nut driving thru folks watchin' a Christmas parade, aina?

The "Chicago has strict gun laws" is one of the dumbest arguments ever. One may ne surprised to learn that guns are trafficked into the city from the suburbs and surrounding states. The problem isn't the ineffectiveness of gun control in Chicago, it's the lack of gun control elsewhere.

  do you honestly think most of these shootings were their first rodeos?  do you honestly think most of these perps just happened to have their first guns and have clean rap sheets?  when they let these scumbags out on NO CASH BAIL, do you honestly think the first thing they do is apply to go to finish their GED's or community college and apply for a legit job, go pick up their kid(s) and take them to the zoo and for an ice cream?  do they go into drug/alcohol rehab and volunteer at st vinnie de pauls?  until they start putting away the bad people, bad things are going to happen. 

    if you liberals were really serious about GUN CONTROL, whenever one of these felons are caught with a gun, it would be automatic life in prison, no parole, no bail, no plea deals...problem solved.  but you would rather take guns away from ALL people including those who've never even got a parking ticket.  it has nothing to do with how many bullets the gun has or how scary the gun looks.  these gang bangers carry these "scary guns" around to intimidate just as they all have pit bulls.  why not a labra-doodle or a corky or something

Do you have any studies that show that a significant number of shootings are committed by those who have been convicted of a prior felony?  Or even arrested for a felony and are out on bail?

I have said here many times that prisons should be prioritized for those convicted of violent acts. So I agree with you there. But unfortunately that's not the case.

If the President needed to make it to the city of every mass shooting every time one happened, that'd be the only duties a President would serve.

It's not like this in any other developed country in the world because they actually have common sense gun laws.  But guns aren't the issue.

Well, let's start with returning to a traditional family structure, respect for authority, eliminating the proliferation of illegal drugs, prosecuting criminals, respecting your fellow man, eliminate government give away program excepting for those who are truly down and out, restructure mental health laws, celebrate heros other than athletes and media celebrities, and build a sense of self respect rather than despair.
