Could you please cite some specific "soft on crime" policies enacted by this mayor that has led to shootings? And back it up with data or any evidence?

Do you have any studies that show that a significant number of shootings are committed by those who have been convicted of a prior felony?  Or even arrested for a felony and are out on bail?

Or is this yet another assertion that you have been told to believe?

I have said here many times that prisons should be prioritized for those convicted of violent acts. So I agree with you there. But unfortunately that's not the case.

They are all there sully, go look them up yourself. That way you can pick and choose your "reliable sources" and go with it. You know recidivism is a big big problem   These aren't all car jacking virgins. Speaking of which, the crimes being committed are by younger and younger thugs. Juvi crime ain't throwing eggs anymore. Juvi's committing violent crimes should be prosecuted as adult crimes.  These "children" see nothing happens when they do bad things...that why we keep getting bad things happening

No.  Authority oversteps.  Drugs are awesome and should be legalized, in general.  Society over prosecutes 'criminals' already.  There is plenty of respect for the fellow man.  Government 'give aways' should be increased and be more accessible where there is need so people don't turn to crime.  How would you restructure mental health laws.  We already celebrate 'heros' a ton, and hero worship is disgusting... people should do the right thing and not expect a god damn parade and a pat on the back.  Hard to have self respect when the system is rigged against the poor.  People don't commit crimes for fun, they commit them because they are desperate.

The Buffalo shooter came from a solidly upper, middle class, intact family. He had no history of drug use, no criminal history, didn't receive government hand outs, etc. The same could be said for many, if not a majority, of mass shooters.
That said, there's probably some good in here. Now, how do you propose to make this all happen?
I mean, on the one hand, you want to return to the "traditional family structure." But you also promote a criminal justice system that has incarcerated young Black fathers at five times the rate of their white peers, and gives them sentences 20% longer for the same offense.
These two positions conflict, don't they?

If you really want to fix the problem, let's crack down on males. Men are responsible for the vast majority of violent crime in this country, including 98% of mass shootings.
