I cast my ballot today, first day of early voting in North Carolina.

I'm always proud to do this civic duty for our great democratic republic.

No politics here, and certainly no partisan statements. Just hoping that everybody votes.

Peace out, my MU brothers and sisters.

Is there an election?

You'd never know by watching TV commercials in Wisconsin.
Have some patience, FFS.

I've been stealing ballots and dumping them in rivers.

North Carolina opened early voting yesterday and Mecklenburg County, the state's largest county (and the one where I reside), crushed its previous single-day record for early voting.

The total of 35,269 voters was nearly 20% higher than the previous record, 29,843, set on Nov. 4, 2016. That was 4 days before the '16 election, so it will be interesting to see if new records are yet to be set this year.

I have always voted in- person early by this time.

But not this year as Rs have restricted the time as part of their voter suppression efforts.

I early voted today and something weird happened.

There's a polling place at A&M's student union where I went to cast my vote. When I got my ballot, I noticed it said that I was voting at a baptist church a few miles away instead of at the student union. I brought this up to the volunteers at the polling site and they said they were aware and said that the wrong ballots had been delivered there but it wasn't a problem. A few questions:

1. Are they right, is that not a problem?
2. If it is a problem, where do I report said problem?
3. If it is a problem, how do I make sure that my vote is going to be counted?

In the past, I  probably would have shrugged my shoulders and trusted the volunteers. Given how much "emphasis" has been put on voter fraud this election, I just want to make sure that my vote isn't getting thrown out because of a delivery error.

Super sketchy.

1. Call local elected official
2. report to the state offical
3. call local media

In honesty, this is a reason I do not vote any other way than in person, on election day.

If you don't think there are 1000 different groups trying to peck away at election security, you are deluding yourself.

Excellent suggestions.

I would do at least 2 of the 3 -- call an elected official you think can be trusted, and let the local newspaper know.

If you voted though, TAMU, I'm not sure if those steps will "save" your vote or not. Weird stuff, strange times.

In CT there is a website where I can already see that my ballot is received.  Delivered to me by mail but I chose to hand deliver to Dropbox.

I can get used to this-it was nice to have it done on my own time but also to see some verification of receipt.
