The most maddening young talent doing what he does. I'm thinking he's less Young Mickelson and more Sergio, minus some of the petulance

Herman Cain

Tiger off to a nice start. I like his compact swing.  If he stays healthy I think he has at least 5 more majors in him. (Provided they play the tournaments). I am in the camp that says Tiger strikes fear in the heart of his opponents.

People talk a lot about hole in ones but they're mostly luck. Shooting one's age is the ultimate for us super seniors.

Lenny Man, if I shot my age, I wood ern my tour card and rank high on da money list, hey?

Tiger so on fire and striking such profound fear that he snuck in below the cut line by a stroke.

But don't worry, it's not just Herman.

I spoke to a friend, normally sane and knowledgable, that thinks Tiger has a minimum of 4 majors left in him. 2 Masters, a British, and probably a PGA.  I was dumbfounded. I told him someone Tigers age or older have won 5 majors...ever. And not for like 30 years. But nope, Tiger and his broken down body is gonna rip off 4-5 cause he's "exceptional". Much less the British. It was a good laugh

Yeah. I think he always has a shot at Augusta but it's gonna be a huge uphill climb for him to contend in the other three.

He could win at the British but the conditions would have to mirror what they had at Carnoustie two years ago.  Getting that 15th major was such a bonus.  It was a beautiful topping to a phenomenal career but expecting 5 more majors is laughable

I have read several features about Bryson and have not seen the word "steroids" once.

And I know I'm a cynic, but it was the first thing that entered my mind when I heard about his weight gain and other stuff going on

Just googled that. Interesting. And there are a few other articles out there at least wondering about it.

Gaining that much muscle mass that quickly without "help" is extremely unusual.

To be fair, he's gained a good amount of fat too.

i'd love to follow rahm around for a few 18's...he's been known to finish a round a few clubs short of what he went out with.  no roids necessary ;D

If he wins today, he is World #1.    Tiger playing like an old hack today.    Poor guy.    Anybody else and they would have quit showing every shot out of pity.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

I dunno about that chip shot penalty. I didn't see anything there in live action. The ball may have moved back a minimal amount when he grounded the club, but it returned to its original position - or close enough so that the lie was not improved - when the club was lifted. I don't think these ball close-ups are good for the game. Rahm's was not the only shot I saw yesterday where that happened.

So how is everybody's game going this summer?   Around here, the golf courses are having their most rounds played in recent memory.
Has anybody found new magic sticks?
I know one person is doing stack and tilt.   Is it still working?
Got the yips?
Personal best in distance for club toss?

Outside of one bad round, I've been between 83-87 all summer. Playing a lot of early morning rounds just to ensure I'll be done in under 5 hours. The courses in Milwaukee are slammed.

Would love to get a trained eye to tune the swing up and make a run at 79. Still getting a little too steep and it's leading to some inconsistency, especially with the irons.

Putter disappeared on me midway through my round last week. Finally learned how to hit a three wood off the deck though, and has since become the straightest club in my bag. Go figure.

Not a golfer, but thought you old golfers would like this video.  Same foursome has played the same local tournament together for 50 years.

Any golf YouTube channels you guys are fond of? I quite like Eric Anders Lang's videos. His golf guide to Scotland was some incredible stuff.
