The market is doing fine.

Inflation is also doing fine (based on my shopping lists... So much more expensive).

Devaluing the dollar is also doing fine, based on my companies expected average salary increase, it's a bit better (salary increase).

But the devaluing of the $ has made us lose more than market or salary gains.

FWIW, I saw an article yesterday noting that people will finally start to see "noticeable" tariff inflation this month.

Not saying Dimon will be wrong - I mean, there's always the "next recession" eventually - but he has been a voice of doom and gloom for many years now. Had investors heeded his warnings, they would have missed out on significant gains.

Visa and Mastercard stocks down about 5% each today after a report said Amazon and Walmart are considering stablecoin payment systems that would bypass traditional payment rails.

Overreaction IMHO. Few actually see this happening anytime soon. Seems more like a negotiation ploy by Amazon and Walmart.

New strategy to me.  I'm not planning on doing anything differently, but will be in interesting to watch:

I do have some funds to move around (sell / relocate) in the next few months, if the indexes do see a bit of a surge, will likely try to play the market timing game.

Private sector hiring unexpectedly contracted in June, payrolls processing firm ADP said Wednesday, in a possible sign that the economy may not be as sturdy as investors believe as they bid the S&P 500 back up to record territory to end the month.

Private payrolls lost 33,000 jobs in June, the ADP report showed, the first decrease since March 2023. Economists polled by Dow Jones forecast an increase of 100,000 for the month. The May job growth figure was revised even lower to just 29,000 jobs added from 37,000.

Sounds like the government will be hiring soon, so that'll help.

1. Impose idiotic tariffs
2. Later, announce "trade deal" that is far, far worse than before the tariffs were imposed
3. Declare victory

And somehow the market seems to fall for this stupidity every time
