? I'm not as quick as you apparently.

(Crazy) Elon has been in charge since day 1.  His moves are still calculated (he's smarter than the guy in charge).  Any news is "good" news.

Market is up bigly because of an alleged "thaw" between the visionary genius and the guy he accused of being a lying pedophile who will cause a recession.

Honestly, I think he is long past calculated at this point. Claiming your boss is in the Epstein Files? No one really doubts that, but then why did you spend $280M to get a pedophile elected?

Elon has been acting like the 12-year-old boy that he is mentally for the last half decade at least, and I don't think the prolific drug use has helped that...and being the richest man in the world hasn't helped with his impulse control either.

His BoD should have their asses sued for being pathetic yes men and woman rather than representing shareholder interests.

I mostly agree, but still think he's saying these things to try to prop up Tesla.  Any argument may have been a planned move too...

The latest from the NYT ...

President Trump has no plans to call Elon Musk on Friday, two Trump administration officials said, as the acrimonious blowup of their partnership left both men — who lobbed online insults and threats at each other on Thursday — with a lot at risk.

A White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the person wasn't authorized to speak publicly said Friday that the president planned to sell the red Tesla he said he bought in March. Mr. Trump originally purchased the car to demonstrate his support for Mr. Musk amid a backlash over his role in the administration. Administration officials said Mr. Trump showed little interest in engaging with Mr. Musk, even after the billionaire signaled he would be open to de-escalating the fight.

If this was an elaborate scheme, props to them but I am choosing to go with Hanlon's razor here until proven otherwise given the track record of their pasts.

Yeah, the conspiracy theory is fun, but including implications that the other guy is a sex-trafficker and should be impeached seems a little more than just a way to decouple Tesler from Trumpworld.

I don't need to wade to deep into controversial things, but it's so undeniable that Musk has a SEVERE drug problem. Which honestly makes a lot of sense.  Drug/alcohol/other addictions have made otherwise very intelligent people look like abject morons.

Yes this has been obvious for years that he's impaired, and I am surprised how willing people are to put their dollars into a company run by him rather than all the companies run by world class CEOs.

FWIW, his former bromantic partner is also blaming Elon's drug use for their tragic breakup.

I feel like he's having severe second thoughts on the Tesla he probably purchased a few months ago.

Many economists and market-watchers are saying tariff-based inflation could start rearing its ugly head this month, as they follow the lead of Walmart's CEO saying the company will have little choice but to raise prices.

Some economists point to the already rapidly rising costs of apparel (and, less so, footwear) as the first real shot across the bow.

How this will affect the stock market is still uncertain.

Ah, here we go: Telsa enacts policy making it nearly impossible to sue the BoD for breech of fiduciary duties. Unfuckingreal. Reason #572 not to be invested in this company.

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/tesla-shareholders-face-staggering-hurdle-103045210.html

"Tesla raised the bar for shareholders to sue the company board or executives for breach of fiduciary duties.

The change took effect May 15 and requires an investor or group of investors to hold 3% of the electric vehicle maker's stock "to institute or maintain a derivative proceeding," CNBC reported. Tesla's market cap is $1.123 trillion, so a plaintiff would have to own shares worth $33.7 billion.

"Obviously, for a company of Tesla's size, that would be a formidable barrier to anyone bringing a lawsuit for breach of fiduciary duty," Tulane Law School's Ann Lipton told CNBC in an email.

The change was enabled by a Texas law that "allows corporations to limit shareholder lawsuits against insiders for breach of fiduciary duty," the outlet added. With shareholder approval, Tesla moved its incorporation site from Delaware to the Lone Star State in June 2024."
