No, they don't play until next Friday. Looks like online only. I wonder if ESPNU might pick it up locally.

Don't believe espn does anything locally

It's a pickup tournament that just happens to have several alumni teams

Yep. The very source of my lack of interest.

oh no a few guys aren't Marquette alum. boo who. ill be watching. Good nostalgia from some of our former players and good quality hoops to watch mid summer.

I had fun watching DJO this afternoon.  What a warrior.

I'll be watching as well but it's a valid complaint when a team claiming to be the golden eagles alumni has three non MU guys.

As far as DJO goes that's a weird complaint.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Glow and I have gone to the first round the last two years -  last year at the Al and the year before at Bradley in Peoria.  It's a blast.  It's very casual.  Lots of opportunities to interact with the players and a good way to see your favorite ones up close at an extremely reasonable price.

Have some patience, FFS.

Last year at the AL was a lot of fun. Was hoping they would have it this year.

Why isnt djo playing for MU?

In some ways Peoria was even more fun because the guys really enjoyed interacting with the handful of MU fans that attended.  I had a very nice chat with Jerel and he was genuinely pleased that we had made the drive down from Chicago to watch them all play.  But perhaps the highlight was watching Jamil jawbone with some trash talking SLU guys in the stands.  I 'think' it was all in good fun but Wilson made sure to take out any real animosity on the court.  Seeing some really high end hoops that up close and personal is a good time.

As much as I like Buycks, Jamil. Rowsey , Juan etc. On principal I have to boycott any team that takes Derrick and Jake Thomas and a bunch of non MU guys over Swaggy Du, who actually really wanted to be on this team. The GM of the team has no common sense, and it is astonishing that he actually represents the school in an official capacity .

Derrick averaged 16.5/5/5 with 2.8stls this year and shot 38% from 3.

Duane hasn't played organized basketball in what, a year and a half?

These guys are trying to win money Herman. And Derrick is a better player.

I know Fitzgerald's title is "GM" but you are severely overestimating the decision power he has. Roster decisions are made by the players. Buycks, Jamil, Rowsey, Juan, etc, the players you love seeing, they are the ones who picked Derrick, Jake, and a bunch of non-mu guys over Duane. For whatever reason, they didn't want him on the team as much as other guys. Stop trying to make this a marquette decision when it was a player decision.

You might want to refrain from that because Duane was taking part in the practices at the Al. So maybe he's not quite as upset as you indicate he is. (See the group photo)

Did you get incorrect information about Duane and the player selection process?

Duane was very upset about the process. He publicly posted he was salty about it .

Thankfully they came to their senses( or someone couldn't make it ) and it appears he is a part of the team on some level.

I have great respect for how Duane conducted himself at MU, the achievements he made at TAMU before he got hurt and how incredibly hard he has worked to get back into shape.  He went down with  to Atlanta with JJJ and they played on Lou Williams pro am team in Atlanta and did very well.

Duane is a Marquette and 414 loyalist and even sends his young Kobe to MU camps so just wanted to see MU embrace someone he is putting their heart and soul into it.

Again, MU had/has no say in the roster construction.
