I feel like Wojo will redshirt him this year, he can block shots and can rebound but does not look like a D1 player.

He actually looks like a Div I guy, but does not play like one yet...    ;)

I'd be surprised if he red shirted this year.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I think it can go either way just because we won't get Froling for awhile

tower912

I think he stays eligible this year and red shirts next year.    There will be a need for him, particularly before Froling becomes eligible.   Next year, with Joey and Morrow and Bailey, he can sit and learn and get stronger.

Can't Marquette wait until December and red shirt him then? Or does it need to be decided prior to Friday?

As long as he doesn't play, they can decide to redshirt him at any time.  And they can also pull the redshirt at any time.

My guess is that they will wait until Froling is eligible and see where things stand.

You will have your answer Fri.    But, as stated above an injury could change things, forcing him into action.

My guess is he would have played vs LU, if the coaches were counting on him this season.

A player told me a month ago he is redshirting.

Redshirting is not an act or election, it's a description for someone who does not play a single second.

I think they'd prefer to not play him this year, but if there are injuries or other needs for him to enter a game, he will.

Though one can take action to elect to redshirt.... ;)

They did announce Sacar's last year so that people wouldn't have to ask why he wasn't playing.

At some point I think they will say something but it might not be until Harry is eligible.

And yet some kept asking:  where's Sacar?

It may be in the best interests of the program for Ike to redshirt. He needs experience and we will have to replace Matt Heldt in two years.  There is a benefit of Ike getting some experience this year and red shirting next year.  Giving him a few energy minutes each game. Although if the coaching staff elects to red shirt Ike this year I am fine with that also. Justin Patton red shirted his freshman year and had a great second season and got drafted in the first round.

I have watched Ike extensively over time and he continues to make steady upward progress. One of the things that people may not know , is that he has a decent jump shot.

All you haters can eat crow, calling me out the last couple of weeks.  I said Trump would win too. I just hope MU kept communication going all along during process. Need to focus on Herro as number one priority now with Grimes as a back up plan. My other fear is Joey decommits now and heads to UW. I had inside info he was kind of waivering on his commitment a couple of weeks ago. I believe in Wojo that he can keep Joey and get Herro inked in the next couple weeks.

Give the man credit, that was a truly stinky pile of BS.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Wojo, Stan and the other coaches sure are relieved to hear you say that.

I mean, just the other day, Wojo told me: "If there's one person on God's green earth that we'd hate to get angry, it's the Scoop poster pretending to be the 9-9-9 dude."

I honestly think Heldt might be the most important on the team just because we will need him to get a majority of the rebounds until froling becomes eligible
