The only commonalities between these three, is that they all took a red shirt.
Nothing more than that, at least at this point.

The situations are very similar. The players showed flashes of promise but needed time to hone their skills.

The problem with Ike redshirting compared to the other 2, is the other 2 had a spot open to start right away.  I see Ike has the 13th man next year.  If he really improves that much, MU should be really strong next year, they can come in groves, best team they will have in Wojo's tenure and still young the year after that.

I am not worried about having too many big players.   It always works out.    Froling gets homesick, somebody injures a knee, we win a national championship and everybody turns pro.    Transfers.    (BTW, wouldn't it be nice to have Duane as a safety net right now?)   Right now we have nine scholarship players.  Minutes take care of themselves.

I watched the TAMU / WV game. Duane got some decent run, and looked like Duane. 2/8 shooting. It wouldn't suck to have him, but he wouldn't move the needle all that much. I would've much preferred to have Mike Lewis or Mikey Dixon sitting out this year and ready to take over the PG role next year.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

You said that Ike is going to be like Patton or Happ.  If Ike turns pro and gets drafted, or becomes a candidate for conference POY be sure to let me know.

Maybe not Sacar and Elliott, jury's still out on them. But Duane was very clearly the worst player on the team last season (after Sandy left). I don't think it was his fault though. Injuries destroyed his legs. Rowsey/Howard/Haanif are already better and I think Sacar/Elliott will be better by the time they are upperclassmen.

Guess my player source was right.  This is the best situation for this kid.  I really think it has helped Sacar as he would have gotten no PT time last year, now he has
3 years of playing time.  His game will just get better.  Wisconsin has done this for years, the players that redshirted did improve and it works.  You only redshirt a kid
if you feel he has the potential to be good.  Ike has the body, foot work to improve.  With Morrow out as well, those 2 can go at each other everyday, should help both.
Plus with 2 incoming frosh, and one being 21 already, it levels out the classes.  If Bailey is any good, he will never stay 4 years.

Redshirts don't have to only practice against other redshirts, they practice with the rest of the team.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
