I think thats also NBA protocol.  NBA.com actually lists "last attended".  Show me a player that shows a slashed alma mater in the NBA.  Or further, a player that shows the school he spent longer at, rather than the one he played at last before entering the NBA.

Went to Bulls games when Wade and Butler were on the Bulls. Butler was Marquette, wade's intro was Chicago.

You're right though Cain has a MU degree and yet it's listed as Oakland idk if he finished his masters but it's interesting. I don't think I'd want NUIG (now U of G) as my school over MU.
