nice article on Jamal Cain in today's MJS

Former Marquette basketball player Jamal Cain soaking up experience with Miami Heat
A tremendous young man, with a great attitude.  Earning it every day with his work ethic and positive outlook.

Flew down to Miami to watch the Heat play Orlando on the last day of the season. No Jimmy was a bummer, but DWade in the building for UDs retirement and watching Jamal go off was awesome. Some people in the crowd asked my son and I if we knew him as we were standing and hollering every time he made a shot. Love Jamal

with miami's tyler herro out-changes the scenario a little bit.  the bucks are too deep for the heat and if they can stay healthy from here on out, they will be tough to beat even without the freak.

if i'm recruiting for MU, take the prospective baller to a couple of bucks-heat games, sit back and let the game do the talking.  then intro them to "the MU boys"

jimmy and his bulletin board material-that's a bozo no-no?  ain't no fat lady singing if ya can't pull her away from the golden corral food line

Remember when the Bucks put Crowder in the game last night and he looked like he was 57 years old? He's basically unplayable.

Crowder and Dragic had a good 2 man game going once the Heat scrubs were in.

Unbelievable performance from Buckets.

Willfully misinformed.

I want the bucks to win, but sort of funny to see how upset badger fans are at this tweet:

https://twitter.com/marquettembb/status/1650683783870283776?s=46&t=TZ_cPvIe7pp0GisUlD32eg

They would act the same way if a player from their school had that type of performance.

JFB 56 wow.

Just watched the highlights...all the "Wow. Jimmy Butler!" and "Jimmy Butler does it again" and blah blah blah. My mind kept hearing "...Jimmy F***in' Butler..."!!!

So a naive question: Has that nickname carried into his professional career? Do boards of teams that he's been on refer to JFB?

They did. John Davis had like 17 points against the Bucks near the end of the regular season and they all lost their minds.

I just read your post 90 seconds after seeing an Athletic email with a section header in bold “Jimmy f-ing Butler”.  So, apparently yes.

I saw one said Jimmy MF Butler.   Close enough.

I feel like the JFB nickname is similar to calculus in that it was simultaneously invited by multiple people and used ever since. I remember being on spring break Jimmy’s sophomore season and screaming “Jimmy F@cling Butler” at the top of my lungs after each unexpected bucket he had against Nova in his 19 point off-the-bench explosion against Nova in the BET.

I also heard a new one that I liked last night: Himmy Butler.

His nicknames now are

JGB or Jimmy Gets Buckets or Jimmy G Butler or Jimmy Buckets. Harkens back to the Bulls anouncer

James Butler or Literally Jimmy

Himmy Butler, more recent with players being called Him the past few years

Jimbo is thrown around

I rarely see JFB or Jimmy MF Butler outside of Scoop, but it might be catching on

What difference does it make? Jimmy doesn't come back to Marquette for events, proving beyond all doubt that he is a horrible, horrible person, truly one of the worst human beings on the planet.

He's also a fake tough guy who is overrated. He didn't actually score 56 points in a playoff game against the #1 seed last night, and anybody who claims he did is biased.

Most of the first part of your post is accurate.

But imagine if someone took your journalistic words and twisted them as much as you are.  My god the novel we would all get here...

OK WTF, I'll play along. What evidence beyond something you've heard can you provide the rest of us to prove that Jimmy Butler is a horrible, horrible person?

I know firsthand that athletes often are not what they seem, so maybe Jimmy really is one of the worst human beings on the planet. Did he assault a child? Rape a woman? Shoot somebody? Spit in an innocent person's face? Instigate a bar brawl? Break up with a girlfriend via text? Serve moldy cheese at a party? What?

I'm seriously asking you to please help the rest of us understand your point of view.

I've posted it here before.  You can look through my history to find it if you want to.

I'm glad he's nice to fans.  So was OJ Simpson.  So were tons of awful people.

This doesn't help anything.

People on Twitter claim to know, but when asked they don't say a thing.

Same with people on here.

Someone said he didn't like how the school treated Buzz or something stupid like that, but yet he was at Marquette just a few years ago having a great time being indicted into the HoF well after the Buzz era.

Seems like no one knows why they disconnected or why anyone should feel a certain way about Jimmy. There are never answers.
