I think Markus is in an ideal situation . He has a coach who values and understands what Markus can bring to the table. having the coach on your side matters a lot.

Worth noting, as far as I can see , Markus has spent no time on the  Denver G League even though he is a two way player .

By comparison Vander never had a coach who believed in him. When he finally made the Lakers he got almost no time and then was cut .

MarKus 3-4 from 3. Solid eve. Glad to see him playing well. I honestly thought he would average 1 min a game and play garbage time only. Really impressed.

Only downside was 5 fouls in 12 minutes ha.

But yeah it’s great to see him have a few games in the non garbage time rotation and make shots during that time.

He was like this in the playoffs as well. When he was given quality minutes, he held his own. Hopefully, he gets a shot somewhere to get some run. I was surprised nobody picked him up last offseason.

I saw those fouls in the box score and laughed. What was he doing out there on D?

But like you say, it's nice to see him taking advantage of his time on the court. When Covid and injuries to his teammates resulted in him getting a more extended run (33 minutes total) these last 2 games, he has averaged 15 points on 50% shooting (including .563 from 3) while committing only 1 turnover. He's been kind of like MU freshman Markus -- instant offensive bursts and incredible 3-point shooting.

Oh, and the Nuggets have won both games.

It may take some time, I think Markus will become a player like Lou Williams (JJJs Uncle). An instant offense type of guy off the bench who has a very long career. Markus has a different style than Lou and is smaller but is basically the same concept of a player.

Markus fouls and resulting points
2:28      Markus Howard personal take foul   12 - 24- no free throws
7.3      Markus Howard personal foul   22 - 29 no free throws
5:36      Markus Howard shooting foul   34 - 44-Neto with the basket and free throw
9:43      Markus Howard personal foul no free throws
9:21      Markus Howard personal foul no free throws

So only one "bad foul", The first was to stop a breakaway, the second was they had a foul to give. Not as bad as the box score looks.

0-fer inside the arc last night, but Markus is now 13-23 on 3s in his last three games in about 16 minutes a game - not shabby.

That sucks. He was getting some really nice run and being very productive.

The Nuggets may be without Markus Howard with a left knee injury on Wednesday against Minnesota. He was injured while scrambling for a loose ball in the fourth quarter and had to be helped to the locker room.

Nuggets guard Markus Howard left Wednesday’s game in the second half with a left knee injury but appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario, a league source told the Denver Post - https://www.denverpost.com/2021/12/16/markus-howard-nuggets-knee-injury-update/

We already knew there weren't any Hausers on the Nuggets.

We would have to ask Brad Davison for confirmation.

That's a real bummer for Markus. He worked hard and patiently waited for his turn. And when his number was called, he answered, doing really well and helping his team win games.

I feel really bad for Marquette's top scorer and outstanding representative, but I'm confident he'll produce the next time he gets the chance.
