Well, I'll go with a blast from the past.  This is how we'll separate the (relative) newbs from those that have been on Scoop for way too long (and on Rivals(?) before that).

I nominate Murffieus.  Just pair him with a dime-a-dozen point guard, and they'll be fine.

/I was surprised to see that Murff was "last active" on this board just a few weeks ago, even though he hasn't posted since November 2010.

Not only could Murff play...he could tape all of Team Scoop's ankles, and provide the Listerine.

We'd be invincible!

Dinner topic tonight:  What is the foreign equivalent of "He who smelt it, dealt it."  ?

Spanish: El que lo olió, lo repartió.
French: Celui qui le sentait, le traitait.
Danish: Den der smeltede det, behandlede det.
Latin: Qui fragrantiam, de qua n eam.

None of those roll off the tongue.  There is NO CHANCE there's not some awesome idiom in these languages.

Oh, man google just led me here, and I'm almost peeing in my pants.

HE WHO SMELT IT, DEALT IT.

He who denied it, supplied it.
He who deduced it, produced it.
He who attributed it, distributed it.
He who detected it, projected it.
He who perceived it, conceived it.
He who expressed it, compressed it.
He who related it, deflated it.
He who protested it, foam-crested it.
He who derided it, provided it.
He who maligned it, designed it.
He who smelled it, expelled it.
He who opined it, refined it.
He who rued it, brewed it.
He who revealed it, peeled it.
He who quipped it, ripped it.
He who knew it, blew it.
He who reported it, exported it.
He who decoyed it, deployed it.
He who averred it, disinterred it.
He who eschewed it, spewed it.

In a general sense French has some really strange idioms. Instead of saying 99 normally, their literal translation is the equivalent of saying 80 plus 19.

One of my personal favorites is, 'Avoir le cul bordé de nouille,' which translates to something along the lines of "Have an ass full of noodles" but just means to be very lucky.

Also, Arby's curly fries.

I always liked the all-purpose French expression "ca va," as in the conversation:

Madeline:  Ca va?

Jacqueline:  Ca va!

An entire conversation in which both people say the same thing, but one says it with a question mark.

Probably, during the UW game he got to like 51 or 52.

Yo tengo un lapiz.  Mi lapiz es amarillo.

I'll be curious to see if that is recognized by anyone.

I have been thinking about doing some writing in my free time.  Maybe a mini-memoir or semi-autobiographical short story to submit to a journal, with the possibility of turning it into a full length book later.  But whenever I'm settling in to start, I first read Scoop and suddenly feel an overwhelming need to take a nap instead.

Fun fact. We recruited Shizz Alston Jr. It was down to us and Temple IIRC. Cheatham committed and Shizz went to Temple shortly afterward

For some reason I don't feel like having an ass full of noodles is that lucky. Maybe for some, to each their own

I am compiling a book of my Scoop posts entitled "Scoop for Dummies".

Good call Nag.  Let's plan on co-authoring the "Scoop for Cavemen" and the "Grainless Scoop" editions. We'll need a while on the latter edition, though, until Google Translate catches up.
