What's the shop? Need some ice cream before watching the Madsen bois play this season

Flapdoodles.  Mom and pop place that opened several years ago.  If you're watching a home game at Mayo, the one on South Broadway is about a mile from the school.

Some of it is good.  Some of Saucerful of Secrets is good.  But a lot of it is just too odd.  Atom Heart Mother is pure garbage though.
Totally agree.  Most of that early stuff is way too experimental for my ear.  the one argument for giving it its due is that they recorded their progression to being 'Outliers', i.e. 10K hours of practice, and without that garbage we wouldn't have the genius.  Compared to the Beatles who got their 10K in a strip club in Germany or the Stones who got their's mimicking the blues in their apartment we get to experience that journey.

From an artsy perspective it get it, but i'm not artsy so i don't like it.

also, and this needs to be said, Floyd = with Waters, like Genisis = with Gabriel, and VanHalen = with David Lee.

Most underrated Floyd album = The Final Cut.

Discuss.

I'd go with Animals.  You never hear it on the radio because the songs are too damn long.

Funny story. One of my best friends from 11th floor McCormick went to his high school reunion in New Jersey. He asked to buy a year book because he had lost his. The response was, "are you an idiot? Don't you know they are collectors' items? " Evidently when my friend was a senior in high school,Bon  Jovi was a freshman and then dropped out. So this was the only high school year book that he was in. My friend said, "I went to school with Bon Jovi?" They said, "Yes, his name was Jon Bon Giovani". My friend said, " Little John Bon Giovani was Bon Jovi?" He had no idea.

Okay so not that funny, but pretty good.

My senior yearbook was stolen in a break-in.  No famous people in my school (that I'm aware of

Meddle is their first album that is solid throughout. Some good early stuff but a lot of just terrible stuff.

"Echoes" is incredible. First heard it watching "Live at Pompeii" and it blew me away.

Please tell me they took everything.

Unfortunately, yes.  The yearbook just happened to be in a box with other stuff, and it was something the thieves could grab fast and get out.  Probably ended up in a dumpster.....

Sorry, Goooo, didn't mean to make light of a break in - should have figured it was something like this.

No worries.  It was decades ago.  At the time, I was mostly pissed about the TV, clothes and stuff, but that all woulda been long gone by now anyway.  After all these years, the HS yearbook is the only thing I wish I could get back....

Funny how when things like that happen, a first reaction is often to fret about the cost of things. With time, one realizes that it's the things of value that are most missed.

What's that quote about people who know the price of everything but the value of nothing?

Indeed.

Anyone else seen Wilde's gravesite - at Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris?  Lots of famous people there....
