I just had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.

I had a banana that was about to go bad. Tasted okay, though.
Have some patience, FFS.

Back to original name.  Not going to further celebrate a kid who must now address  this year's Frosh as 'sir'.

Nothing personal.  Earn it, Warrior.

Girl at MU in my class that looked so much like Rosanne Rosanadana that she was called Rosanne.  She did look like her but she was better looking.

I'm always wary of those, but it's a nice surprise when they still taste OK.

My wife once had a boss who loved them WAY overripe.  He'd let them sit in the kitchen getting black and mushy, and considered them "ready to eat" when the staff started to complain about the smell and all the fruitflies swarming around.

Ever try inoculating a banana with brewer's yeast?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I had two breakfast tacos with some chips and queso.

God bless Texas. The people are nice, the winter weather is amazing, but the best part hands down is that tacos and nachos is considered a regular breakfast.

Don't worry 4ever, corn tortilla and corn chips.

My wife and I vacationed in Jamaica about 5 years ago.  She commented how much better the bananas tasted.  She asked a native that was working a resort about this.  He answered, the bananas naturally sweeten on the tree as they ripen.  But exported bananas are picked when they are far from ripe and they don't sweeten as much after they leave the tree.  So on your next Caribbean vacation, make sure to try the bananas.

Or any of the fruit.  Wonderful.

Speaking of fruit, anyone else here tried a durian?

No.  But I recall the first time I saw them in a grocery store in China.

I asked our Asia sales rep what it was.  He said Durian fruit.  And he said they are banned at most hotels in Asia because they don't want the stinky smell in the hotel.

Yep, they smell and taste awful.  I tried one in Singapore because they were a big deal there, and it tasted like an onion that had gone bad.  I just couldn't choke the whole thing down.  Andrew Zimmern (who can eat almost anything) couldn't finish one.  And one travel writer described them as follows:

"... its odor is best described as pig-crap, turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock. It can be smelled from yards away. Despite its great local popularity, the raw fruit is forbidden from some establishments such as hotels, subways and airports, including public transportation in Southeast Asia"

That's a staple from Thailand through Indonesia. I don't care for it but, funnily enough, my wife loved them.

They have durian-flavored ice cream and cake. Not my thing.

I recall golfing at Penang and they had nets under the durian trees along the fairways. The durians weigh upwards of 20 pounds and are at 100' off the ground. They can kill people as they fall from the trees.

Did you actually go through the drive-thru line? They have it down to a science. You can be behind 15 other cars in line and still get your food 5 minutes later.
