Did Krispy Kreme succeed?  They have a single location in Wisconsin.  Dunkin has a reputation for low cost and good coffee.

Indeed, I'm surprised there aren't more.  That being said .. I remember when it opened and they had a line out the door for a while.   At least, that one location seems to be making it.

White Castle doesn't need to open 10 stores, just one would be super.    Put it near UWM or MU and keep it open until 4am for the drunks?

Chick-Fil-A is also much more of a "suburban" oriented restaurant than KFC or Popeyes.

So Chic fil A is the traditionals of the fast food chicken world eh?

I think a MKE WC would succeed like Krispe Kreme and Chick-fil-A did.   Dunkin Donuts, KFC, and Popeyes are all over the area, but KK and CFA succeeded.

I've long thought a White Castle could make a killing over on the East Side. Place it within walking distance of UW-Milwaukee. Not a lot of fast food over there, with the closest McDonald's either on North Ave or Capitol Dr. It's the kind of late-night, munchie fare that would be great for college kids.

My dad and I would have to sneak White Castle visits in .. mother did not approve.

They were called "gut bombers" in our house.

Made the road trip to WC in Kenosha 2 or 3 times in college.  Went out drinking in Indy in 2003 on the Friday night between 1st and 2nd round tourney games.  Three of us ended up at WC at night's end; total bill was about $45.  Had leftovers for breakfast the next day.  Those are my only experiences with WC.

As for the Lucky Charm shake at BK, that is the first I heard of it.  Reminded me of the Simpson's episode where Homer orders Skittlebrau at Moe's.  Anyway, I may need to track this shake down.

Like McDonald's, White Castle has a lot of proprietary products. As a matter of a fact, I know at least one factory that does nothing but crank out frozen sliders.

It probably doesn't make business sense for White Castle to send one of their big product trucks up there  to stock one restaurant.
Have some patience, FFS.

Always thought WC was for a "higher" state of mind. No WC down here only frozen supermarket product.

A KK opened here in Rochester several years back. It did extremely well for about six months, and then the crowds just died. After about a year or two they called it quits.

Honestly, I don't think their donuts are much better than the kind you can buy in most grocery store bakeries.

I've always thought of KK as the gold standard.  Qwik Trip has a clone donut that's spot on, though .. and cheap.  Can't hit that station without a dozen or three.

Krispy Kreme? Never understood the appeal. Local mom and pop shops have the best donuts but if its gotta be chain than Shipley's all day, every day.

Never watched TJ Hooker.  Toupee.  I may as well be married to Marlee Marlin for as much as my wife listens to me. (Enraptured with facebook)

I never felt one of their patties so I wouldn't know - what I do know is they tasted sublime. A sack of double cheeseburgers at 2:00 am after a night on the town is an experience like no other. Yum.
