Wife and I just bought blackout curtains for the bedroom. Man, those things are nice but dangerous. I went to take a nap Saturday and I think I just woke up. They make you sleep like the dead

I believe North Dakota is a state Wisconsin has reciprocity with for in-State tuition.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last week and I think that's false.  Pretty sure Wisconsin's only reciprocal state is MN.

However .. there is the Midwest Student Exchange Program which promises to charge students 150% of in-state tuition .. NDSU is included.

Love those.  Wife and I were in Norway 15 years ago and the hotel had blackout shades.  They fit in a groove on the sides, so there were no cracks of light, zero lux.   It was like sleeping in a coal mine.

I have been in hotel rooms with blackout curtains, and decided I would NEVER want them unless maybe I lived in Times Square, on the Vegas Strip, or some similar location. Nearly killed myself heading to the bathroom at 4 am....

Ah, thanks. For some reason, I thought there was an agreement when I was looking at schools back in the 2007 timeframe. I must have been thinking MESP.

Now, I find it kind of odd there were that many fans from NDSU. There were a few pockets in the student section.

I was wondering if maybe we were their only P6 away game within a reasonable driving distance. But then I saw that they played at K-State, and learned that Fargo is about the same distance from Milwaukee as it is from Manhattan, KS.

So much for that theory....

North Dakota schools recruit the Twin Cities area pretty hard, including western Wisconsin.

My wife was on night shift for about a year after we got married. Blackout curtains were required on every window in the house ("the light comes under the door!") and she put up tin foil on the windows in the bedroom in addition to the curtains. It was like living in a cave. Glad that's over.

On the sleeping issue .. my wife and kids occasionally have trouble sleeping, so I got a bottle of melatonin gummies.

They really do the trick.  The kids like them as they are delicious and shut them up.    I honestly don't know if it's a placebo thing or not, but on nights I don't feel sleepy, I'll take one and 20 minutes later, I'm out until morning.

Most hotels have blackout curtains already, but it’s that crack where the shades comes together that makes the biggest difference.

Road Warrior Tip: Use the pants hanger in the closet (the one with the two clips) to clip the curtains together in the middle.  The light around the edges will be negligible more often than not.  Will it be zero lux?  No.  But it will be dark enough that you’re not going to be awoken by light.

IMO, the only benefit of zero lux is normalizing/maintaining circadian rhythms & such, i.e. there’s no benefit on sleep.  Which would make sense considering much of Norway can receive 20+ hours of daylight in the summer months.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

At my in-laws near Detroit, they have black squirrels in the trees.  Milwaukee has only grey squirrels.

I found a place in Florida that will sell them for $1250, which makes me think I should just capture a few and bring them back myself.   -- Not to mention breed them and sell them for $1249 and retire to easy street.

Project Squirrel is a great resource on this matter. Apparently, the black squirrel is a mutation of the grey.
