When I hear dumplings, I just assume Asian (dim sum).  Hence my preference for steamed....

Surprised by the lack of trick-or-treaters and the low number of porch lights on tonight.

These kids are going to be sorry they skipped my house.  I have full-size candy bars.
Have some patience, FFS.

Had my first ever 'kids these days' moment.

Was waiting by the door, two kids got out of a car I thought, oh they're probably starting here. Gave them their candy, they proceeded to get back in the car to be driven to the next house. I was stunned.

Did you shake your fist and yell 'get off my lawn' after the fact?

That’s the beauty of the potsticker.  Flash pan fried bottom then immediately steamed to completion.  The best of both worlds.

Back in the day, we used to do two or three laps around the neighborhood.  On later laps, we skipped the ones giving out stuff like pencils and apples, but would have stopped at your place several times....

We used to live near the governor’s mansion in Saint Paul and we would get at least 1000 kids a year.  Just unreal, I swear they were bussing them in from all over town.  Then we moved to family-friendly Saint Louis Park but we’re on a busy-ish street and maybe got 20 kids this year.  Quite a change.

So when making cupcakes, do you go with:

1.  White with White frosting.
2.  White with chocolate frosting.
3.  Chocolate with white frosting.
4.  Chocolate with chocolate frosting.

Or just a mixture of all of the above?

What the hell?  Did you put that in there just to help identify the psychopaths?  Is that even a thing?

The correct answer is No. 2.

Edited to add:  I always have had questions about CTWarrior.  I'll be keeping my eye on him.

Rarely make cupcakes, but when I do they are usually chocolate with cream cheese filling. No icing.

Carrot with cream cheese icing also a favorite at my house.

100%.

The only deviation is, on a lark, we once made 'crownies' from whatever commercial "Artsy Tony Romo" was in where you put a brownie inside the cupcake before baking.  now it's a staple.

Funny thing is, this question was motivated by my wife liking number 3, and me thinking that was crazy.

Maybe she is a psychopath...I'll have to watch Mindhunter to learn more.
