TAMU, Knower of Ball

Just when I thought I'd never see a worse choke job than UNI in last year's NCAA tournament it took about 8 basketball game days worth of college basketball for Georgetown to upend them. I think Maryland got 8(?) free throws without even inbounding the basketball in the last 30 seconds of the game, all while trailing the Hoyas by as much as 6 inside 30 seconds. That was absolutely horrendous.

UNI was worse. Up 12 with 42 seconds left. That was an enjoyable night.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Creighton looked great. Tremendous atmosphere lots of community support. Good win for the Big East. McDermott is a very good coach.

@Vandy I believe.

Basically the same thing. The schools are literally walking distance from each other.
Have some patience, FFS.

Off-topic, and I apologize if this was discussed elsehwhere, but I just realized that DePaul will be playing UWM this year. Seems like a more sustainable long-term matchup...

I believe this is the third time they've played in the last few years. I think they had a home and home in the past.

Results have been great so far. I don't like seeing the Big East lose, and the way Georgetown lost was especially frustrating, but if I had to pick a team to lose, I'd pick Georgetown. So I can live with it, especially after Creighton smacked down Bucky.

Things are looking good for the conference so far.

UWM playing at Depaul will make them appreciate their fan support at the Panther arena

Agree here...nice to see...I'm hoping by this weekend BE is at a 90% win clip (including two more for MU  ;) )

Georgetown first loss bursts that minor fantasy of the undefeated BE...we'll be bursting fantasy bubbles soon enough for MU undefeated; MU BE champs; etc...  But whats great are the things that aren't fantasy but real possibilities. MU beating ranked teams; MU in NCAA tourney; MU being ranked; MU great season.  Not realities. They have work to do...but a real hope.

Trade Georgetown for Dayton

Gtown fans just might say the same thing after our game against Michigan. Karma has a way of biting you in the a$$.

I would think we have learned that the past three years.

Meh.  I doubt any Marquette fans were going over to the Georgetown forums predicting a 3 seed with the outside chance of a 1 seed the last couple years.

He's been called out about that so many times and refuses to acknowledge it. I find it hilarious

Even with the loss kenpom still has us one spot behind Georgetown.

Please include a trigger warning with all Dayton related posts.

Herman Cain

Northwestern up by 3 at half at Butler. Northwestern is actually a decent team. Butler seems to lack the outside shooting of years past.

Butler pulled it out at the end and beat Northwestern 70-68. Good game at Hinkle. Kethan Savage was injured and did not play for Butler.

Big East now 17-1 non conference.
